Summary: I am a BPO Photographer and I ordered this camera because my Kodak EasyShare did not have a wide enough lens angle. I think that this camera is a good buy used or new if you are looking for a wide angle lens. The many features allows me to expand on the types of photographs I shoot.
Summary: I got this for my 15 year old daughter who has been a photography lover for years. This was her first "real" camera (in other words, her first expensive camera). She loves it and does some amazing photography with it.
Summary: I'm not a beginner but wanted an inexpensive camera that allows me to use some camera skills without a bunch of lenses. It was recommended by a friend that is a naturalist photographer. Meets my needs.
Summary: I bought this camera at the end of April 2012 in preparation for an extended vacation abroad. I have a Pentax K 110 DSLR with a Tameron 18-200mm Zoom lens which are great, but weighs too much if you carry it around all day. The S4000 is light and has many fine features.
Summary: The Fuji Finepix S4000 is a great camera especially for the price of about $200. The 30x zoom is great. It is at it's best outdoors of course. I found that taking pictures using the long zoom does not work well if the subject is not lit; that is probably true for any camera.
Summary: AS I AM TRYING TO PORTRAY, I HAVE LITTLE CLUE AS TO HOW TO OPERATE THESE MODERN CAMERAS. I USED TO HAVE AN S.L.R. 35 YEARS AGO AND I HAVE A LOT OF GOOD PIX FROM THAT. BUT I AM HAVING RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX TROUBLES WITH THIS CAMERA.
