Summary: I had received this camera for my birthday. I was impressed with the quality of pictures taken. This a fabulous camera for beginners. My one criticism was the shutter speed was a little slow between when I pressed the shutter button and it snapping the picture. If your looking for camera to take action shots, I would suggest looking at other options. If your looking for standard portrait and nature shots this is a wonderful camera for the price.
Summary: I've had this camera for about 2 months. Out of the box, on auto, indoors, without flash. That was my first shot and it was muddy, out of focus, etc. I was disappointed. I read the manual, front to back. I was stunned by the user controls on this camera. Over the next few days, I shot hundreds of photos using every option on the camera. The results are truly stunning. I am 65 yers old and have used just about every type of camera.
Summary: Bought this to replace my older Pentax cameras. I had old Fuji 205 and 210 for E-Bay work. Ended up using them all the time. No need to send film out for development! The photos with those little cameras seemed better than my Pentax SLR's. Decided to try a better digital camera and felt as cheap as this one was I would. This thing works GREAT. Allows you to use auto or custom shoot, and point and shoot seems great.
Summary: I purchased it on sale. Worth the price but other of my cameras are much easier to use. I miss a lens hood. The batteries life is a little to short! A real minus!!! You have to use a tripod if you want sharp pictures. If not use the self timer so as not to have camera shake as you depress the shutter button . The macro feature does not work to my liking The angle is too wide for it to completely fill a 35 slide .
