Summary: I've now had this camera for several months. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase. I have taken many excellent pictures. The battery life seems very good (I'm using rechargeable batteries). I love having the viewfinder option and using basic AA batteries (two of my main reasons for choosing this camera over others) The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the auto mode doesn't always produce the same quality of photos as the point-and-shoot I owned before this.
Summary: Like this camera for entry level photographer as it has good options for picture taking and a good zoom, but we've had a couple of difficulties with the lens not retracting all the way and camera having to be reset to fix. Not sure if it is single camera issue or more systematic problem of this model. Time will tell.
Summary: Today's reasonably priced cameras no longer have a viewfinder and rely solely on the LCD display. Since these cameras also typically run on batteries, the use of the display depletes the charge fairly quickly. The Fujifilm camera has a great 3 in. display and a viewfinder. I shot photos mostly using the viewfinder thus mitigating the drainage on the 4 AA batteries.
Summary: So far so good. Only reason for not 5 stars is the battery life. Since you have to replace the batteries I would recommend getting recharable batteries cause this camera really eats up the battery life.
Summary: I need to view the dvd and get more practice in but this a great camera for the price and I'm really enjoying it so far. Its pretty intuitive and there are a lot more options that my point & click digital. this also allows full manual operation for advanced photographers.
Summary: I got this as part of a package deal for my daughter on Christmas. It came with the memory card and case. It was a good value for the money and takes fantastic pictures, even with the zoom function, which is usually lousy on most of these cheaper cameras. I would recommend this for casual photographers who don't want to bother with the features that are offered by package and SLR cameras.
Summary: I bought this camera because my old Sony died. I looked at a few different ones before landing on the Fuji. My only complaint so far is that runs off four double A batteries and not a rechargeable one. I know that I can buy rechargeable double As, I just haven't done it yet. Other than that, I have no complaints.
