Not as great as the older model

Summary: I bought this camera thinking that it would be better than my older model. I was shocked! A horrible winding noise recorded with my video. Using the zoom function and you get a winding moter noise thats recorded in the video. I was ashamed to show anyone the videos. E-mailed FujiFilm and the rep told me that it was the nature of the camera "sorry". The older model does not have that noise and now I miss it! I'm so disappointed and I hate my camera.
Summary: Having had a Fujifilm S5000 camera and finding no fault with it at all, we decided to buy the Fujifilm S2800HD. NOT a good idea! The set of batteries that came with the camera did not last long. Since I was setting up the camera with time and date and just folling around with it, that waas no surprise. But the second set of batteries only lasted for 16, yes I said 16 pictures! I did not take any movies with it. Just snap shots.
Summary: I am a knowledgeable photographer and own A nikon D300S and a Nikon D90 with a variety of lenses..I wanted something light to beat around the bush with and take pictures, when carrying the Nikons would not be practicable...I owned a Fuji camera before and it took fair pictures for what it was and that was only a 5 megapixel camera... This new one with 14 megapixels is real real dissapointing when it comes to picture quality..
Summary: This is the 4th Fuji Finepix S series camera I've purchased. My S1000 only needed to be replaced due to a chipped lense. I spent a month looking at different cameras, DSLRs, and decided to wait out this new camera due to the success that i've had with the others. I'm a point and shoot amateur photographer, and this camera line has made me look like quite the pro. My camera goes everywhere with me, hiking, and packpacking, road trips... everywhere.
Summary: I was really excited to see a camera with specs like this for such a great price. This is where the excitement ended. The camera was such poor quality all round. The zoom function makes it impossible to see anything on the LCD screen and the actual photo where worse than my 5mp point and shoot. I am hoping that this was just a "dud" and of course I sent it straight back after seeing the results in the first few minutes of opening.
Summary: I bought this as a replacement for my S5500 and I'll be honest, it was a bad move! Almost impossible to focus on things that my old one used to breeze, such as airborne stuff - A/F just can't handle it. Similarly, you cannot snap shot as the A/F cannot cope. The picture always seems forced and artificial with noticeable bending of the image from the wide angle. Only improvement over my 5500 is the zoom on video function. Never been so disappointed.
Summary: This Camera is appalling at any price. The pictures are very, very poor quality. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I did and feel like I've been mugged. I have 3 other Fuji cameras that have all been very good. I decided to upgrade to a higher resolution. If this is what Fuji are putting out as a digital camera they should be ashamed. They have lost any brand loyalty they had from me. This is probably the poorest quality camera I have ever had.
Summary: I am by no means a professional photographer, I am as I would have thought most people are looking at this camera someone who wants a good camera to take crisp photos while on holiday or with friends/ family. This camera is DOES NOT DO THAT! I recently bought the camera as I am travelling a bit this year and thought it would be useful. After returning from Dubai I was seriously seriously disappointed with the photos I got, blurry, over exposed, to dark...
Summary: DONT buy this camera! read the review by Tony Smith "All that glitters is not gold" this is everything i have to say and more. Please dont waste your money Fuji went downhill when they designed this camera. I would recommend the S2000 or the HS10. The 1 star was only given as i could not send my review without at least 1 star.
Summary: The Finepix logo on this camera is in gold and as they say "All that glitters....." I have owned 4 fuji finepix cameras over 9 tears and have recently used an excellent S1500 as a companion when not out with a full strength Canon 5D DSLR. I have always been pleased with design and results and so when looking to move up from my S1500 this was my obvious choice. The spec is unbelieveable as is the size of this camera. Thats unfortunately where it ends.
