A great "middle-of-the-road" camera for new enthusiasts.

Summary: This is an old camera (new in 2010). It is a great purchase as a back up to your DSLR, OR for someone who wants to learn DSLRs. It will far surpass most pocket cameras. Two bad things about this camera are poor viewfinder quality (mini-LCD) and it consumes AA batteries pretty fast. I recommend having rechargeables. The picture and video quality are exceptional and the zoom ability is rather good. It even has a small amount of memory built in.
Summary: This is a great camera for those wishing to step up their photography a bit. The zoom features are easy to use. It takes very clear photos, and has great features that aren't too complicated for beginners. I really like the timer, the color settings, and the black and white setting. It is a terrific value for the money, and looks impressive too!
Summary: Before I bought the camera I read the reviews and I didn't believe what they were saying about the batteries. It's true. I went to a wedding, took a few pictures and the batteries were death. Other than that for the price it's ok. I'm buying recharchable and taking extras on any trip.
