Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR Review

Review guidelines
13 August 2013
  • Summary: The optical zoom and high image sensor type EXR is the salient features of the Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR, a bridge of good quality and packed with features. Notable among this is the film mode, high sensitivity, the optical stabilizer, the optical viewfinder and support for the RAW format. It must be said, however, that the display is neither too big nor has a very high resolution to be a bridge and does not support HD video.
  • Pros: Optical viewfinder; OPTICAL ZOOM, Film Simulation Mode, Dual image stabilization, RAW format support; New EXR sensor.

Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR Review

What Digital Camera
20 January 2010

Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR Review

Digitaltrends
7 October 2009
  • Conclusion: The FinePix S200EXR costs around $530 at legit online outlets, putting it in the range of DSLR kits such as the Nikon D60 and Sony alpha DSLR–A230. However, the supplied lenses of that pair are basically 3x zooms, a fraction of the 14.3x wide-angle Fujifilm digicam. It’s a huge difference, and a key selling point for the S200EXR. The FinePix also has many DSLR features, including fast response and many tweaks for those who’d like to make them.
  • Pros: Manually operated 14.3x zoom; etensive manual settings; rapid response; some cool scene modes
  • Cons: Heavy, expensive; LCD doesn't handle direct sunlight well; EVF should be higher quality; no HD video; dumb auto power-off mode

Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR review

18 January 2010
  • Excerpt: Bridging the gap between a compact and DSLR, superzooms combine much of the versatility of the latter in a smaller package, although the design is something of a compromise. With a physically smaller sensor, picture quality at high ISOs can't match that of a DSLR. Noise and clipped shadows and highlights are common when shooting in anything but perfect conditions, but Fuji's S200EXR promises to change that.

Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR digital camera

Pocket Lint
8 October 2009
  • Conclusion: So does the Fujifilm S200EXR offer pretty much all that a DSLR does, whilst saving the need to swap lenses or invest in additional optics? No, but it gets a fair degree of the way there, the combination of Super CCD EXR sensor and bolted-on Fujinon branded lens delivering an impressive degree of sharpness under most conditions.
  • Pros: Sturdy construction, intuitive operation, broad focal range allows for a wider variety of creative choices
  • Cons: Priced the same as an entry level DSLR (albeit cheaper than one coupled with a lens with the equivalent focal range), standard definition video

Test: Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR (Digitalkamera)

CHIP Online
1 May 2010
  • Pros: Sehr gutes Objektiv, Hohe Bildqualität, Bedienung, Kreative Aufnahmemodi
  • Cons: Durchschnittliches Display, Kein HD-Video
