A great step up from a point and shoot for a reasonable price

Great camera but very poor video

  • Summary: Background: I am no professional camera person, but I love to take pictures, especially scenery and interesting shots. I bought this camera in replacement of a Canon A520 that I have had for several years. I liked the Canon, except for the lense cover that wouldn't open from the start (I'd have to flick it open with my fingernail). One time it fell and the focus got stuck.

  • Summary: I love this camera!! I have never had a nice camera and have many options and functions still to discover, but so far its great!! A few minor issues: the lens cover does not stay on well at all, and it is hard to take pics in the dark (probably a setting I have not discovered yet). Other than that it is light weight and easy to use.

  • Summary: I wanted a modestly priced camera with "point & shoot" ease; but with room for creativity. JOB DONE! Five minutes after opening the box I'm shooting amazing macro & full zoom shots. 'Power up' and/or lag time between shots is minimal. The "zoom" is very quick, and I shot a hundred or more pics before the "4" Alkaline batteries supplied were toast.

  • Summary: I was worried when I received this camera as my last Cannon ($250) bounced once at the A/Port and died. The FedX lady dropped my camera on the driveway while getting ready to sign for it. I opened the box and was surprised to see just card board packing? Well all is well and the camera works! This camera is even easier to use than my point and shot (broken/Cannon). The zoom 15X wooow! works well and picture quality is very good.
