Defective - don't risk it

Summary: If a deal seems too good - it probably isn't good at all. I think Madoff said that.
Pros: Box was lovely.
Cons: This would have been a great deal IF the camera actually worked. But this camera wouldn't take pictures. It arrived without lens cap or strap, no chip, old firmware. After downloading first few pictures, the camera became "blind" - had to return it the same day. Don't buy factory refurbished - th...
Summary: google "fujifilm focus error" appears to be a very common problem with fuji cams. tried all suggested fixes (ie. replacing batteries, covering sensor etc....) none worked glad i can still return it. most likely will get other.
Cons: Focus error problem on first boot. never got to take a pic.
Summary: I bought this from newegg.com, it is "recertified" in the box. It was missing the lens cap, a/v cable, batteries (no biggie) and neck strap. The camera looked to be in new condition, however I also got the black pictures of death (dark, very dark and black) with repetitive shots of same object...
Pros: No camera compares with these features
Cons: No lens cap, neck strap, a/v cable, batteries
Summary: I took about 5 pictures the day before X-mas when I got the camera. Of cousrse I got it to use for X-mas the next day but when I turned it on to get pics of the kids, It beeped and said "zoom error" on the screen. After many many trys, the problem would not go away and I can not use the camera.
Pros: Great pictures, very comfortable to use.
Cons: No auto flash but that's not really a "con".
Summary: This camera has RUINED what could have been many fond memories. I hate it and can't recommend it. It ruined my son's birthday pics today and so I'm writing this review. I actually have to use my old 4MPix camera instead.
Pros: It was cheap (Now I know why!)and had a decent optical zoom. After that it just goes down hill!
Cons: No image stabilization on a 10MPix Camera...REALLY! (Shame on me for not reading up on the specs! I just assumed it would be STANDARD by now.) Camera is SLOW and UNRELIABLE! Camera came with memory card but, it's constantly having write errors (like every other pic). It takes forever to get ready...
Summary: I had an earlier Finepix S-5000 (3Mpx) and took some of my most satisfying photos with that camera. When the sensor died, I looked for a replacement and settled on the S1000fd based on reviews and features for the value. So much for value.
Summary: Check out the review from 5/25/08 by Challenging Designs and the one from R. Yomes from 7/10/08. Something is not right with this camera. I am putting my comment here to share my experience. I've been experimenting with this camera for the last month and a half.
Summary: I was very excited when I first received this camera. At first the auto settings worked fine. Unfortunately it didn't last long. Then I needed to set up user defined settings. I need the camera for real estate & area photography. The size and weight were great. I have small hands and it fit well.
Excerpt: On first use, taking three photos, I was very impressed with the camera and its software. The images were bright and of a high quality. I used the camera on my first shoot as I am a photographer creating a calendar and took over 500 images.
Excerpt: I hate this camera because - 1. nearly all photos are covered with noise, speckles and other weird things! None are anything like as good as with my Sony cybershot, nor even my very old Kodak! 2.
