A quality fun camera at a low price!
2 December 2013
Summary: I have 36 digital cameras and this one is my favorite. The variety of settings that you can do exceed any of the other cameras that I have. It takes standard AA batteries and SD cards. It will do a panorama photo, which is cool. And the super macro function is a must for me, which I have only one other camera that can do that(Olympus Stylus 1010). This is a real nice camera and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Perfect for amateur photographers who want to take impressive photos

Summary: I have owned two of these cameras. This has to be the finest camera I have ever used. I've taken stunning non-flash nighttime zoom photos from over 7 miles away of landscapes, buildings and monuments that were good enough to make posters and postcards of. I highly recommend this camera. PROS: It is the smallest 10 megapixel camera in the world, image quality is excellent, and has the ability to recognize and focus in on multiple faces at the same time.
Summary: I bought this camera back in 2008 and it's still working perfectly, I am extremely satisfied with it, sometimes it takes a couple of second to take a picture but the results are really really good, the only bad thing is that the video quality is really bad, only 460x320, I can't blame the camera since I bought it without knowing this, so just take it into consideration if you're going to be filming a lot with it.
The Fuji S1000fd is a great camera for scenic shots and portraits.

Summary: I used my original Fuji S1000fd for several years. I am a nature buff, so I used it to take photos of my perennials. The camera took lovely photos last fall at Letchworth State Park, Castile, NY. It also took clear scenic shots at Sedona, the Grand Canyon, AZ, and the desert area near the Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, AZ. When my daughter borrowed my camera to take photos during a trip with my grandchildren, she jarred it and disturbed the focus mechanism.
Summary: this camera can take some very nice pictures but only with good light and a tripod, it doesn't have image stabilization and the automatic mode takes some horrible pictures, everything above iso 100 looks like it was made with a $5 plastic camera, maybe worse, if you are looking for a camera that takes great pictures on automatic settings, stay away from this one, on the other hand, if you are experienced shooter and know your way around the camera, this one takes some...
Summary: For a beginning photographer it's more than what you need. Granted, it's not a SLR camera where you cannot switch lenses of your choosing, but if you want to learn the basics with many options and quality of both pictures and design, this camera is more then acceptable for a novice.
Summary: I bought the camera for a trip to Denmark I have planned for later this spring. I currently have a Canon Powershot G2. It doesn't have quite as much versatility that the Fine pix has. The Fuji was available at a great price so I "upgraded" to it. I like the pixel capacity and the rapid fire ability of the camera. I haven't played with it enough to explore all the features yet. I wish it had a "bulb" feature so you could trip the shutter remotely.
Summary: I purchased this camera to replace my Finepix S5100. Mind you, there was nothing wrong with my 5 year old S5100. I just felt the need for something newer. The S5100 was a 4MP camera - the S1000FD is 10MP. I loved my S5100 and it did right by me for years, so I stuck with Fuji. It's still in the family...I gave it to my daughter and she's using it now. (Still ticking after 5 years!
Summary: I purchased this camera to have more megapixels than my current 10.2 Samsung. I got a lot more than that with this camera. It is loaded with easy to use features. The display is large and clear. I like the settings nob to make quick changes without having to use the screen. About the only thing I did not like is that you have to take the battery out of the camera to charge it.
