Summary: This is the third FinePix camera I've owned and it continues to exceed expectations. The 10X optical zoom adds a punch to this little pocket camera that belies its small size. Add to that the greater sensitivity of the CCD and increased MP and you've got a versatile, take everywhere camera that captures your child in the orchestra's back row with ambient lighting just as beautifully as its fast shutter speed grabs his goal making assist or your daughter's first steps.
Summary: I loved this camera from the time I got it. It has great settings and takes very good pictures and love the zoom. Also good videos. My baby girl grabbed mine with a wet sandy hand and I just ordered the exact same one.
Summary: I just got back from my first vacation with this camera and I am very pleased with its performance. From stellar sunsets, to pristine beaches, to spectacular fireworks...all of my pics were amazing and I have wonderful treasures of my vacation thanks to this camera. The zoom feature is easy to operate and provides great detail. I was able to zoom in on things that I could not see with my naked eye.
Summary: I wanted to get a new camera for Christmas, because my old one had a slow zoom. I travel a lot and I love taking pictures. The zoom was so slow on that one. On this camera, it takes a few seconds and you can get a full frame shot of a person's nose even though he's across the room from you. I may not be using the camera for that, but for traveling and taking pictures of the sights, it's great! It doesn't have many different ways you can take the photo.
Summary: I LOVE this camera! I wanted something that was thin enough for me to put in my pocket, yet powerful enough to take great shots. I'm a dancer in college, so I need something that can take shots of performers, as well as great shots at parties and this camera is amazing. all the settings are wonderful. The zoom is great seeing as how the camera lens doesn't pop out of the body of the camera like with other cameras.
Summary: OK, I've read the reviews on this camera in Consumer Reports and on-line. It gets middle of the road scores but you have to ask yourself this: what do I want in a compact camera? I find the size of the camera very convenient but the features are excellent. The zoom is great and the video is crisp. The flash photos do come out a bit dark...I'll say that much, but shooting pictures using ambient lighting, even at night, works very well.
Summary: The auto mode indoors seems to be inconsistent in low light. The neat thing with this camera is the dial has sp1 and sp2 you can program from 13 different programs. I had good luck using the nighttime mode indoors in lower light and the colors and contrast seem more accurate. The dial has a scene recognition auto mode and a auto mode, again using it indoors seemed pretty inconsistent in lower light.
