The FinePix JX280 is part of the company’s ultra-compact J-Series family of digital cameras and features a 14-Megapixel CCD, a 2.7” High-Resolution LCD and a Fujinon 5x wide angle (28mm-140mm) optical zoom lens. Designed in a high-grade metal body, the JX280 comes in black and is 18.5mm thick.

Features

The FinePix JX280 supports HD movie recording in 720p with sound and stills at 1920 x 1080. It features Tracking Auto Focus that tracks subject and ensures that a clear picture is obtained with the subject in the center of the frame in focus; Panorama mode that stitches shots together in-camera for landscape, large buildings or party shots; Smile Detection with Face Detection technology that detect smiles on faces and triggers the camera to take a picture; Blink Detection which warns users if an image with people blinking have been captured and prompts users to re-shoot if necessary; Scene Recognition Auto (SR AUTO) which detects the scene type being shot and optimizes the camera’s focus, exposure and white balance; Digital Image Stabilization which reduces image blur automatically; Face Detection and Automatic Red-eye Removal which is able to track up to 10 faces simultaneously, at almost any angle to the camera and corrects red-eye in-camera; and Photobook Assist that lets users select and organize images in the camera to create a digital photobook. Users can also download the photobooks to a computer using MyFinePix Studio software that is included. The FinePix JX280 is available end of August 2010 at a retail price of $149.95.
