Cons: When set on Auto, relies heavily on high ISO for everyday shots meaning the photos will come out typically grainy. Example, on auto, with flash turned on, the default ISO was 800 and this camera couldn't make a decent photo out of it. I used a competing camera (although much older) with the same ...
Summary: Kudos to the Egg so far for their processing, as always. I'm still looking for this camera somewhere nearby where a return won't take a 12 mile RT to UPS and a 10-day turnaround.
Pros: Every 'pro' most people said. Since I couldn't test, I'm not sure about the 72dpi issue. How can that be true? I guess it would only affect print-outs, don't do much of that anyway.
Cons: I couldn't insert the battery or the extra memory as the battery compartment cover release button was non-functional. FUJI tech said there's no special trick to it, the button should just pop open the cover, and since it doesn't then the spring is either broken or defective. Returned it for a rep...
Summary: Tried this Fuji to replace our old Canon Powershot A540. Figured the jump from 6 megapixel > 8 megapixel and a 4x > 5x zoom would be flawless. Now I see that this Z100fd takes 8 megapixel images @ 72dpi whereas our old Canon 6 megapixel did 180dpi.
Cons: 72dpi is very very poor. Pictures look very fuzzy and lack definition and sharpness. 2nd major con is the proprietary connector; what's with that? Why didn't they use a mini-USB like everyone else??
Summary: Shocking! Bought this camera after our Nikon of many years was played with by our 3 year old! The Nikon took constant amazing photos. This Fuji is rubbish. Take a picture with a couple of people in it... and everyone apart from the one you centre on, is out of focus.
Summary: I have given this camera many chances to perform well but: The battery life is very poor even with a double capacity battery it only lasts a few days and runs down even when not in use. The focus is very poor and I have never has so many poor images with any point and snap camera I have owned.
