Summary: If you are shooting high-light outside conditions with nothing in motion you will do fine with this camera. My old S3-IS would have done an infinitely superior job at my son's school event which the recording of is now wasted because of this piece of junk Fuji camera. The S3 has half the megapixels but takes pictures twice as good. The camera also came with a defective battery which Fuji declined to replace. It would self-discharge in 3 days flat.
Summary: camera to buy this gift and it turns out that when taking pictures do not come out focused, try to take them again and again but all I otraq are blurry and want to enlarge the photos look pixelated. I do not recommend this camera does not take good photos.
Summary: This is my first review ever on this site and I'm doing it just to complain about how awful this camera is. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA! I have two major complaints: One being that the battery lasts an extremely short amount of time. There have been several occasions where I've charged this camera the a day or two before I've needed it only to find that the battery was dead by the time I've gone to use it.
Summary: I purchased this camera 3 months ago from a major retailer and it is now broken with out any known cause. There has been no abuse, water submersion, or any other events to cause a malfunction not even humidity, I live in a temperate desert. All of a sudden an error message of "TURN CAMERA OFF AND TURN IT ON AGAIN" appeared stopping the camera from functioning. I contacted Fujifilm's technical support to trouble shoot the problem.
Summary: I really dislike this camera, in fact it is the worst camera I have ever owned. These are the biggest reasons: 1. When you take a flash picture there is such a long delay its almost like the ones that run off AA batteries. 2. To set the mode (video, panorama, auto, etc.) you have to revolve this little dial around to the correct setting. However the dial doesn't work and even when its on video most of the time it just takes a picture.
Summary: I purchased this camera in January, 2011, and by March, 2011 it was broken. The LCD screen cracked, and when I sent it back in for the 1 year warranty, I was told that there was "impact damage" not covered by the warranty. However, the camera was inside of a padded case, and sustained no impact damage. I simply turned the camera on, and it was broken. I am very dissatisfied with this product, as well as Fuji's customer service.
Summary: Delivered in record time (as always) by Amazon... Took the camera out of packaging and immediately set up the Lithium battery in the charger. Plugged the unit into AC outlet and went and enjoyed Christmas Eve... Next morning I pulled the battery, placed inside the camera unit and it did not work... Turns out the charger itself is the culprit.... Set up a return and report back some "real" findings once I receive a working unit..
