Summary: There were no reviews for this camera before I purchased it, but I was so in love with the features, that I decided to get it any way. I had a Fuji camera before (6mp) but lost it last August while on vacation. It was a great camera, so I thought I could not go wrong with this one. Plus all the new features sounded great.
Well from the first picture I took, I knew there would be a problem.
Summary: I concur with the previous review, I have just brought this Fujifilm J50home and am sorely disappointed. It's been at least 6 years since I last purchased a digital camera and was shocked at how pooly this camera performs in comparison with my old camera. I was looking for something small and lower on the price scale, but i wasn't willing to compromise quality...
Pros: iI hasn't fallen apart yet (in the few hours i've been testing it), and comes with two batteries, which charge quickly and don't drain too fast. It wasn't hugely expensive either.
Cons: all listed in review. and many more not mentioned.
Summary: This camera is a thousand steps backwards in digital camera technology. It is a travesty on fuji's history of quality cameras. We previously owned a Fuji 3500. When it broke we were wanting to get another fuji due to the great quality pictures we were able to take with our previous camera. We wanted a smaller more portable camera than the 3500 and thought that by going with the new J50, which has 8.1 megapixels and several photo settings that it couldn't be bad.
Summary: Bought this for my daughter at Christmas and, although feature packed and superficially a nice camera, I wouldn't recommend it. Within hours of its first use the mode selector dial had mal-functioned and was either not changing mode or giving a completely different one to that selected. I've had Fujifilm cameras for years and always found them reliable and robust so this came as something of a surprise.
