Summary: My Fujfilm FinePix HS20EXR review finds that this is a powerful ultra-zoom camera, offering an impressive 30X lens. Its image quality is very good for the most part, and, while the autofocus works quickly, the HS20 does suffer a little bit from shutter lag, which does negatively affect some images.
Summary: The Fujifilm FinePix HS20 EXR is a 16 Megapixel Super-zoom with a 30x stabilised optical zoom and a 3 inch flip-up LCD screen. Announced in January 2011 it replaces the 10 Megapixel HS10 with a newly designed 16 Megapixel sensor sporting some cunning tricks to improve noise or dynamic range, a...
Pros: 24mm wide angle and manual zoom ring., Unique EXR modes reduce noise or boost DR., 1080p HD video., RAW shooting., Wide range of burst shooting modes.
Cons: Manual barrel zoom not ideal for movies., Sluggish autofocus., Relatively large and heavy., Poor High ISO quality at full 16MP resolution.
Summary: Introduced at the 2011 CES, Fujilim’s Finepix HS20 EXR ultrazoom compact digital camera (henceforth the HS20) is the replacement for the HS10. The new camera gets a hefty bump in resolution to 16 megapixels from 10 in its predecessor.
Pros: Good image quality, Nice manual zoom lens, RAW shooting option
Cons: Slow to power up, Some misses with AF, DSLR-like size, weight
Summary: Despite the technology, the smaller sensor on the Fujifilm FinePix HS20 means it cannot match DSLRs or compact system cameras for image quality. However, for a bridge camera it offers impressive functionality and great-looking images.
Excerpt: The HX20EXR looks and feels uncannily like an SLR. It's just as heavy at 730g and its lens rings for zoom and focus give a much more tactile experience than other ultra-zoom cameras' levers, buttons and dials.
Conclusion: The Fujifilm FinePix HS20 EXR hardly re-invents what the previous HS10 model, though it’s still a highly-specified superzoom with an attractive and rangey 24-720mm manual zoom. For all of its plus points there are certain areas (such as the viewfinder quality) that fall just short of the mark and...
Pros: Manual zoom, 24-720mm range, built in electronic viewfinder is useful
Summary: The Fujifilm FinePix HS20 EXR builds on the success of the original HS10 predominantly by using a new 16 megapixel EXR sensor, which expands the ISO range up to 12,800, maintains a fast continuous shooting speed and slow-motion movies, and adds the useful EXR modes which improve your images in...
