Summary: Bought this as replacement for same camera that just stopped working. We must be fools but this is the 3rd Fuji we have had and hopefully it will not just stop working like the other ones. This came in fine condition for used and I am getting an extended warranty this time because Fuji has lousy customer ser ice!!!!!!
Pros: Tilting LED screen, fair super macro quality, pretty good size, OKAY lighting.
Cons: Difficult to zoom without jumping, terrible slow motion video lighting, bad quality unless you're really close to the object, weird flash, difficult to figure out how to use different modes, bad quality when zoomed up, too expensive for what it is.
"Useful for the massive lens, otherwise mediocre camera"

Pros: Pros -- massive lens. Good performance at high ISO (reviewers are way too picky on 800 and 1600, I've had excellent results). Excellent handgrip feel. Takes lovely landscape pictures. Strong macro performance.
Cons: Cons -- Poor performance in all other aspects.
Excerpt: Lives up to the hype. Very good image quality. Incredible zoom range. Image stabilization really works well for full-zoom, hand-held shooting. Great video quality. Sweeping panoramic is fun and effective. Problems: None yet.
Cons: You get too many unexplainable blurry pictures in broad day light. The controls on the grip sometimes prevent you from getting your shot until you get your hand off. The manual zoom creates shaky video and it uses 4 AA batteries! Who thought of that?
Excerpt: Shot-to-shot times a real pain. Average IQ; low quality zoom images lacking detail. Macro ability superb. Problems: 2 Firmware Updates appear to have repaired many prior issues while some remain.
Summary: I awaited for almost 2 months in anticipation of this camera when it was first announced around the beginning of February. I finally got my hands on it on April 7th, 2010. Unfortunately after a month using I returned it today to my local Walmart store. Image quality was a big let down. You can see plenty of noise and image artifacts at anything over ISO 100.
It pretends to be the "uber-camera" but fails to deliver 50% of the time.

Excerpt: I got this camera about 3 years ago, and it's finally time to give an honest opinion. It's a camera that left me with mixed feelings, and you'll see why, in just a bit. While most people would call it a bridge camera, it's actually more than that, it's a hybrid. That means it not only takes the shape and some of the settings a DSLR would have, and what most bridge cameras do, but also features a manual focus-ring and a 30x exclusively manual optical zoom.
Good for scenery or long distance photography. Normal photographers can do better.

Excerpt: I replaced this camera about 2 months ago for my girlfriend with a newer sony model. It definitly did its job and has great zooming capabilities. However, it only has about 10 megapixels which is a downside to it. The sony I bough her had 14.1 and is less than half the price. Don't get me wrong it takes great pictures and she had it for a long time. However a smaller sleeker model with better megapixels is much better.
