Fujifilm Finepix F800EXR

19 October 2012
  • Summary: The new Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR introduces wireless image transfer, 6 artistic filters and a slightly cheaper price to Fujifilm's travel-zoom range, but image quality and RAW processing speeds are still problematic and we miss the F770EXR's on-board GPS features.

Fujifilm FinePix F800 EXR Review

18 October 2012
  • Excerpt: but removes GPS, and replaces it with Wi-Fi for wireless transfer. Upon connecting the camera to a mobile phone, it's possible to GEO-tag the photos using the GPS from the smart phone.
  • Pros: Soft touch finish, Good front and rear grip, 20x optical zoom lens, RAW mode available, EXR D-Range Priority boosts dynamic range, EXR High ISO / Low noise reduces noise, Manual controls, Good colour reproduction, Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Cons: Video performance poor - poor focus, and image stabilisation, Spongey video button, Short battery life when using WiFi, EXR mode increases purple fringing in bright areas

Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR

Pocket Lint
17 October 2012
  • Conclusion: The Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR comes with plenty of notable merits, but its packed-out features list misses out some key points. The lack of lens-based stabilisation means this compact just isn’t quite the same calibre as its close competitors.
  • Pros: 20x optical zoom, raw shooting ability, EXR mode works well in a variety of conditions
  • Cons: Autofocus "freeze" at long focal length, lens flare an ongoing problem (as per predecessors), sensor-based stabilisation makes low-light and long focal lengths tricky to shoot, not much is new compared to F770EXR, overexposure is common

CHIP Online
23 November 2012
  • Pros: 20fach-Zoom in kompakter Kamera, WLAN-Modul, Manuelle Einstellungen, Schnell
  • Cons: Auflösung, Bildrauschen ab ISO 400, Serienbild-Geschwindigkeit
