Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR Review
Digital Camera Review
31 December 2012
Excerpt: The Fuji FinePix F800EXR is their newest camera in the "f" series cameras. This line is known for its long zoom and compact shape. Fuji kept many features the same as the rest of this line. It has a 16 Megapixel EXR CMOS sensor, 20x zoom and 3 inch LCD screen just like the rest of the line. But Fuji decided to add a Wireless Image Transfer System feature to the F800 in hopes to keep up with everchanging wireless technology.
Summary: Image: For this wideangle shot, the lens was set at 4.6mm (25mm equivalent on a 35mm camera), 1/600sec at f/7.1
Tested in a variety of shooting conditions, the FinePix F800EXR produces well-exposed images. However, it does have some annoying features. For instance, the zoom control is jerky, making accurate framing difficult, and while the intelligent flash produced evenly lit shots, it's not intelligent enough to pop up automatically when required, instead requiring...
Excerpt: In terms of its design the Fujifilm FinePix F800EXR is virtually identical to the F770EXR model that it replaces. Therefore most of the comments that we made about that model apply equally to the F800EXR, which has similar glossy curves as its predecessor. This new 16-megapixel model somehow shoehorns a 20x optical zoom (25-500mm equivalent in 35mm terms) into a slender, handbag or pocket friendly chassis which measures just 24.9mm in depth at its thinnest point.
Excerpt: Fujifilm isn’t shy when it comes to turning out releases in the travel zoom compact camera market. The FinePix F800EXR - which succeeds the F770EXR by adding wireless image transfer functionality - looks on paper to be an affordable, well-featured compact. We thought its predecessor had one or two issues and lacked some "must have" features. Can the F800EXR right those wrongs?
Pros: 20x optical zoom, raw shooting ability, EXR mode works well in a variety of conditions
Cons: Autofocus "freeze" at long focal length, lens flare an ongoing problem (as per predecessors), sensor-based stabilisation makes low-light and long focal lengths tricky to shoot, not much is new compared to F770EXR, overexposure is common
Pros: 20fach-Zoom in kompakter Kamera, WLAN-Modul, Manuelle Einstellungen, Schnell
Cons: Auflösung, Bildrauschen ab ISO 400, Serienbild-Geschwindigkeit
