Conclusion: EXR dynamic range mode is great for outdoor photos. The fancier high-ISO modes (eg pro low light) produce impressive results, but an auto shot that uses 800 or above is quite grainy. That seems to be the payoff for the long zoom. Build quality is excellent although the battery/SD card cover jammed briefly. It's freed up again now though. Haven't taken many shots with flash so can't comment on that.

Cons: The zoom operates much too quickly! So it's hard to compose mid-range photos quickly.
Summary: I really enjoy this camera so easy to set up and easy to operate. I am not a great photographer but like to get good quality pictures from my travels. Has some very useful functions. Battery life is good , but it is a shame that you can't use ordinary batteries as well..
Summary: An excellent little camera. I use DSLRs for work purposes, but always like a compact to use when on walks, holidays etc; when the lighter (and cheaper!) cameras like this are now so good, why have a heavy SLR slung round your neck and occupying scanty Easyjet hand luggage space? It's nice, too, not to have to worry about much in the way of settings when not working, and just shoot.
Summary: Spent some time researching compact cameras with good zoom capability, finally deciding that this was the best buy combination of useful features and price. The camera lives up to its promise and I'm very pleased with it. In particular the zoom capability is excellent.
Summary: Read many reviews and image quality was best with the Fuji F70exr,and i am not disappointed, you need to read the manual and get to know what this fantastic little compact can achieve, low light and night shots are great, landscape and portrait are out of this world, i sold my dslr basically because too large to cart around, and this little camera to me is just as good.well done fuji
Summary: have fully tried various medium 10 x zoom 10mp (or thereabouts) compact cameras (sony, canon, ricoh, samsung, panasonic, olympus) before trying and settling on the f70exr; which, in my opinion outshines/outperforms each and every one of them. it also feels more solid/nicer in the hand than the sony, canon etc. it does not have a panorama taking capability but this can be easily recified by using a photo-stitch (preferrably canon) programme.
Summary: I'm a keen amateur photographer and although I can't afford the very best equipment, I do like the cameras that I have to give good results. My other digital cameras were a five year old fujfilmi 10x zoom (one of the original SLR lookalike type) and an old canon 3x zoom compact. Both of these are still taking great photos, but I wanted a bigger zoom on a small camera. I have now taken this camera skiing 3 times.
Beautifully made, highly flexible, great performance

Summary: For the past few years I have been using a Leica Digilux-2. The Leica produces superb images - stunning colour rendition - but it is the size of a DSLR, perhaps larger than the new MicroFourThirds system cameras from Olympus and Panasonic/Lumix (which use Leica lenses). So I was looking for a smaller compact camera to take travelling that might go some way towards giving me similar results as the Digilux 2.
