Summary: The Finepix F40fd was a better camera in that size since it offered a larger sensor with fewer pixels, but this one worked well for many many years. It was finally replaced by the SONY DSC-HX50V.
Summary: This was bought top replace my wife's camera that broke. This is the same model and color, so her extra batteries will fit and she did not have to relearn a new camera. We both have Fuji cameras and enjoy them very much! Mine is a 10X model similar to this, for riding on the motorcycle, and the HS25 EXR for more serious photography. We love them!
a great beginner camera to learn features of more expensive cameras
4 June 2012
Summary: I find this camera really easy to adjust to, and a great beginner camera to learn features of more expensive cameras. I am shocked by the quality, though it can vary. The only thing i wish it had was longer continous shooting at 12 MP, as well as maybe panoramic shots...
Summary: This sweet little camera replaced one I damaged by putting too much pressure (unknowingly) on the back screen. I was so heartbroken, I sourced the same camera to replace it, and was able to recover my photos, which I couldn't get via cable on the old camera or directly off the SD chip. The feature I use this for most is to take pictures of meals - the macro button is extremely easy and convenient to use, and the pictures come out well.
Summary: GREAT CAMERA FOR THE PRICE I PAID,DESCRIPTION WAS CORRECT AND WORKS THE WAY INTENDED,USES BOTH XD CARD(IF YOU HAVE SOME LEFT FROM WHEN IT WAS TOP DOG)AND ALSO USES SD FOR NEWER FORMAT...EASY TO USE...CAMERA WAS PRESENT FOR USER THAT NEEDS SIMPLE CAMERA TO OPERATE.
Summary: This great little camera that is no lomger in production. My daughter who is a photography student had one that she loved we bought new. I was dropped several times and finally broke beyond repair. Despite having bought several new cameras since, she still missed this camera terribly. We were able to find a slightly used one to replace it, again it's a terrific little camera for the money.
Summary: What I like with this camera is its low-light capability. ISO 800 with this camera is totally useable if your prints are from 4 x 6 to 8 x 10 inches. The photographer has more leeway in adjusting the Shutter and Aperture compared to other compacts. The LCD is good. The built-in flash is barely adequate.
Summary: This is my second of these cameras. I bought the second one just in case I lost or damaged the first because I think they are so great. Severely under rated by those that grade cameras. Crystal sharp images, great automatic setting choices, large storage SD capable, suburb battery life...and this is one of those cameras where the battery does not drain over time if you don't use it for a while.
