Summary: This was a replacement for the same camera I had that was stolen. I love this camera and was so happy I could find the same model on Amazon. The seller did all I expected.I'm ready for Hawaii.
Summary: This camera is far superior to any of the pocket cameras on the market for close up photography. It works well with old documents in an archive or close ups of a painting in a museum or the flowers in a garden or the sights in any place you happen to find yourself. It's a surprisingly capable camera that is the equal of much more expensive full sized digital cameras.
Summary: This is a great camera. My wife is a teacher. And we do the yearbook. The problem is classrooms and assembly halls aren't very well lit. So you need a camera with excellent low light capability. This camera is one of the better ones in that regard. Takes great pics with very good color. Lots of different modes for macro, portrait, sports, landscape, etc. But auto works perfectly a huge majority of the time. Great little camera. Wonderful little price.
Summary: After a short time of use the camera's lens now doesn't fully open. I had the same issue with a different color of the camera that stopped working. I am not a happy camper after discovering the trend of issues concerning this camera.
Summary: I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed that when you zoom while recording movies, that you can hear the zooming when you play it pack on the computer or tv? Just trying to figure out if this is just a defective one or if it is a fault of this model camera.
Good Camera/Sensor, but crippled firmware, try the F505 instead

Summary: I have tried out both the F500 and F505, and the F505 currently costs much less on Amazon (~149usd for F505, vs. ~190usd for F500). That said, now to compare them. Both the F500 and F505 have the same excellent Fuji EXR CMOS sensor, but the F500 (the base model for USA) comes with "crippled" firmware; you lose RAW image capture capability, and the horizontal 360° panorama size is reduced from 1080 pixels high to only 720 pixels.
