Reviews and Problems with Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR / F305EXR

Good outdoors, horrible indoors
5 March 2012
Summary: I used to have a finepix f10 (and a much older before that which I used for 5 years and only replaced because it was old; was still working great and very sturdy). I used it a lot for taking photos for my food blog. It was great on close up with no flash. So after 2 years of using it (still working great and sturdy despite being subjected to flour and oil) I thought I'd "upgrade" to this one. Was I in for a major disappointment. None of the indoor photos were clear.
Maye I just got a terrible lemon, which raises quality issues

Summary: My first use of this camera was so disappointing -- compared to other reviewers' and to Fuji F300 EXR tech specs -- that I did comparison shots with my tiny Canon SD780. The tiny SD780 massively outperformed this Finepix EXR in every low-light shot. Fuji's low-light performance was primitive at best. The Fuji's flash did not once fire properly over several evenings of testing. Fuji's pictures were very grainy (compared to the Canon SD780.
Summary: Seriously bad camera, washed out colours, horribly blurred, LCD screen bares no resemblance to the reality of what you're shooting...awful, awful, awful. Bought it as a chuck-in-the-bag when I didn't want to take my DSLR, but always choose the DSLR over this.
Summary: I can not agree more with people who put 1 star rating for this camera. I paid for it over £200 when I bought it for the birth of my daughter and I have unprintable quality images of her. I can explain how disappointed I am with it as it ruined for me the first few year's memories of her as for that price I could have bought a camera that makes outstanding pictures. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.
Summary: This camera has been nothing but a disappointment. I never write reviews, but after reading the description I just had to! I got the camera a few months ago, paying top money for it, and I wanted it too replace another camera, but this one is even worse! The flash thing they described is so stupid, it says that 'gone are the days of washed out pictures' what a load of bull. All of them turn out that way!
Summary: We bought this camera to replace an ageing Canon ixus. It seemed to fit the bill with it's EXR sensor and HD recording ability. However we have just returned this camera after 4 months for a refund as the lens has become faulty for the second time. Fujifilm fixed the first fault very promptly (very good customer service) but it developed the same fault again a few days later. We feel we can no longer trust this camera's reliability, especially when the warranty runs out.
Summary: I would not recommend this camera at all. I gave it one star for just the lens range. This is so much overhyped camera. I find the picture quality totally horrible, I can paint better than this. And remember I never had a SLR camera but it has the worst picture quality to be called as a usable camera at all. After having this for a week the term 'EXR' for low light camera appears to be a hoax. And its very very slow. My Panasonic FZ50 had an accident.
