  1. FujiFilm Finepix E900 Digital Camera Review

    Reviewer: PhotoAxe
    15 May 2008

This compact model, with a 5.08 cm display (2 inch) of 115.000 pixels (quite small…) appears to have problems while focusing in dark light and in tele mode. But the good thing about it it’s the multitude of functions and semiautomatic programs, even a manual exposure mode. Thru rapid access, in automatic mode you can change the diaphragm parameters. This camera not only uses the JPEG format, but also RAW (by the way, it used an XD card). Maximum ISO is 800. At ISO400 ... Read more

Fujifilm released a compact digital camera that is built for photographers who want control over their images, but don’t want to break the bank for a DSLR or carry around 20 pounds of equipment to get a decent shot. The Fujifilm FinePix E900 has 9 megapixels packaged into a compact but comfortable body. The E900 has a 4x optical zoom lens and some other great features for a retail price of $499. Read more

I am very impressed with the E900 and highly recommend it if you want a compact, cool yet capable camera with 9-megapixel resolution, moderate wide angle capability, fast operation, excellent battery life and good photo quality, even at high ISO settings. Read more

Once the images are in the browser, you can run through them at high speed, tagging the "keepers". There's only one level of tagging "tagged" or "not tagged" rather than the multiple grades (junk, poor, good, better, best) allowed in applications such as Bridge but tagging lets you quickly sort files into ones to work with and ones to ignore. With the Fuji Finepix E900, Fuji has produced an excellent digital camera with a complete feature set including full-manual controls, manual-focus, custom white-balance and RAW mode. Fuji is also currently ahead of the competition with a very low-noise 9 megapixel sensor. Noise levels are a bit higher than the Fuji Finepix S9000 but still significantly better than other cameras in its class. Read more

Compared to my old camera this camera is great. Very Easy to use, once you get use to the menus. Battery life using lithium AA batteries is very good; Camera is small and very light. I looked around and this camera had a lot of good reviews. Picture quality is very good. This is a good buy for the price. Get the one gig XD card, at the 9 mega pixel fine setting the picture size are very large but you can change the mega pixel size to a lower value. Read more

I guess it is natural to write first about all problems with the E900, BUT I left out that I have taken 4400 pictures. Using film I admit it would be only 500 maybe. I've taken it skiing, snow cave camping, caving and it has spent a lot of time in the damp NW. There is a real problem about cold camera meets warm damp air in a cave. Warm it up slowly as water on the cells can lead to dirt film on the cells. (All cameras have this problem) My previous cameras were all ... Read more
