Summary: This camera is as simple as it gets! It also has a "Portrait" setting that "beautifies" the subjects' skin--swear it makes a difference!! I got it to go to Europe and not have to charge the batter--this one uses two double AA's. Very happy with it so far, although some of the photos are blurred--but I'm convinced it's me and not the camera!!
Summary: Works as advertised and then some. Eats alkaline batteries too quickly so I use Lithium AAs. I bought this camera to carry when my Fujifilm HS20EXR won't fit in my pocket. The AX550s fits and takes excellent photos too. For those who bought this camera and were disappointed, my suggestion is to read the manual, understand the camera's limitations and take advantage of the things the camera can do.
Summary: I have no real memory of buying this camera. I don't own the camera. I think that it was purchased for and given to my mother-in-law. Since the camera has purchased, my mother-in-law has not complained to me that she does not own a camera, so perhaps that is why I bought the camera. Maybe it was another reason. If I needed to buy this camera to give to my mother-in-law in the future, I would not hesitate to buy it and forget that I had done so a second time.
Summary: I bought this camera primarily by convenient use of AA batteries, now that I have it in my hands I add that I like by its light weight, multiple and convenient functions, HD video capture, easy to use, modern look, excellent optical zoom and resolution; I prefer it over others cameras with similar characteristics that unfortunately use lithium ion battery; with this one, I use rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries, and if they exhaust, I go and buy some alkaline at any corner...
