Save your money

Wayne A. Miller, Amazon
1 February 2013
  • Summary: This camera worked OK somewhat for about 18 months. It does have an Autofocus problem. Not always good, especially in close-up mode. Then the power-up started going into error more and more until it errors every time making the camera totally useless. Now JUNK. Cheap camera. Short life.

  • Summary: I bought this camera around November 2010. I loved it from the beginning and i still LOVE it. It's user friendly, makes good shots (u need to make sure your hands are very stable as u take the pictures). Its very portable and has a really cool housing! Highly recommended.

Ok, pictures and flash work great/

MICHELLE R., Newegg
14 February 2012
  • Pros: The pictures are very nice and clear. The flash works great. It has HD video (720p) but beware, when you zoom in and out it cuts off the sound while in the middle of zooming. I use it for standard use, no photography or anything of course. If you are buying this for the video, don't buy it, I wou...
  • Cons: Cuts off sound while in the middle of zooming.

Double Flashes troublesome, but solid budget camera.

Nicole H, Amazon
16 December 2011
  • Summary: I bought this last year from Walmart for seventy dollars. Pros: 14 mega, 5x zoom, price, fuji, good audio on videos, durable Cons: double flashes, doesn't zoom very far in video mode (1080 or 720), doesn't always take the best shots Personally, if you can buy a better camera than you should.

13 December 2011
  • Pros: The camera was more than I imagined! Thank you for my early Christmas present!
  • Cons: It lists 2-AA batteries as included, but they DIDN'T come with the camera... oh, well.

  • Summary: This is my second re-certified fuji camera and had no problems.
  • Pros: Small size, does not eat up batteries. Great price. Wide angle makes it easier to take group pictures.

Great camera, but my sample failed

John K., Newegg
19 August 2011
  • Pros: I have this camera in silver, and it's an awesome casual snapshooter. (You can see my review under the silver model.) I got the second one in blue so I could tell the two apart. Huge advantages include the AA batteries and the lens that starts at 28mm. In addition, I've found operation to be fair...
  • Cons: Note that the silver one worked great right out of the box and continues to hold up well. The blue one I ordered, though, was a completely different story. First the package was misdirected (something I watched in amazement via the online tracking) and when it arrived, late and rather worse for t...

For the Grama

Gregory F., Newegg
9 August 2011
  • Summary: Grandma is on the laptop and my wife sends pic's and she kept wanting her to reciprocate. It was more unwilling to try another piece of technology, than a money issue. I saw this and figured just send it up “surprise” her and the wife will make her make it go.
  • Pros: Work and appear form the pictures Emailed by all accounts appears to work great (see below). Low entry price even after adding a SD card, and four AA Eneloop and charger. I liked the fact that it used AA. I'd rather use good Eneloops than have to buy another proprietary battery, and be stuck with...
  • Cons: Sure it's a factory recondition, but if it works good from the start what’s the chance of it going south after that. plenty worth the price if it does.

Good snapshooter for semi-serious photographers

John K., Newegg
15 June 2011
  • Summary: The advantages to getting a snapshooter that takes AA batteries cannot be overstated. A friend got a camera with a proprietary rechargeable battery and it didn't last a weekend car-camping trip. This camera was just as heavily used, but was still on its first set of alkaline AAs.
  • Pros: A decent wide-angle lens: For most family happy snaps the problem is getting everyone into the shot. It's actually not a bad lens; casual shots with mine show much less linear distortion than I'd have expected at the price (very mild barrel, evident mostly in straight lines near the edges of the ...
  • Cons: Viewscreen can be hard to see in bright sunlight. Of course, I'm one of those who bemoan the lack of an optical viewfinder, and I'm nearsighted to boot. But some screens are better than others outdoors, and this one falls on the low end of acceptable. Scene modes lock out exposure compensation: S...
