Good while it lasted...
21 February 2012
Summary: This is a fantastic little camera for the money, lots of features and efficient auto setting, and the picture quality is excellent. You must use lithium batteries though to get a decent battery performance and need to buy an external memory card. Be warned though that the camera is very delicate and will break if you so much as sneeze on it! (Well, not quite, but "robust" it is not.)My first camera stopped working unexpetedly on holiday.
Summary: Pretty good for money, however when filming video get purple lines appear on the picture against any window or other light source. Manual says this is normal for digital camera but my Canon Powershot (or any other digital camera) never did that so sent it back. Shame.
Summary: Please don't be fooled like I was - this is not a normal deal where you purchase the camera and a rechargable battery plus a charger is included...this camera requires 2AA batteries in order for it to work. That may seem okay however the battery life is rubbish and when I was on holidays for 2 weeks, i went through 10 batteries - i wasn't using it THAT often but nearly every time i turned it on it seemed to be nearly out of battery.
Summary: The camera is on its way back to the manufacturer. Having used it once, it will no longer let me take pictures - a fundamental problem for a camera. Pushing the shoot button causes the camera to shut down. The few pictures I took were clear and sharp with good light balance, particularly for a camera at this level. It's just a shame it only lasted 2 weeks.
