Summary: great for first time user--not so good for adults--lacks the capability that other digital cameras have--uses batteries instead of recharger which can be advantage with children, but not adults
Excerpt: This camera was really inexpensive at Shopko. I really liked it at first, but the more I use it, the more I think I should have bought a better camera. I bought the camera and about two weeks later, the light sensor stopped working and so my pictures were either too dark or too bright. I had to call fujifilm and ship the camera across the country to get them to repair it. They sent me a refurbished camera and it seems to be working better, but I hope it doesn't give...
Excerpt: I received this camera as a Christmas gift. I had been looking at the Nikon Coolpix s4000. Let's just say that I ended up buying the Nikon after trying to use this camera at my daughter's first gymnastic's practice. I am a professional photographer and would never use this camera. I wanted a point and shoot camera that I could keep in my purse and take wherever I went. I tried taking pictures of her at this practice and they all came out grainy. I was not pleased...
Excerpt: The Fujifilm Finepix A170 10.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and 2.7 inch LCD is a very nice little camera for the money. I was looking for a camera that I, a techie-never-wanna-be, could figure out and use without having to read a giant user's manual or watch a 2 hour instruction CD, so this camera is perfect for me. It has a 10 megapixel and 3 times optical zoom, as well as a panorama mode. It makes the pictures i take look very professional.

Summary: Solid Camera. Awesome that it runs off 2 AAs. Decent camera for the price. Don't expect insane options since this is a fairly cheap (in terms of price) camera. The shutter for the camera lens stopped closing after my ride down a hill in a go-kart in new zealand. Probably a speck or something got into it.
Summary: This was my first camera. If you want to learn about basic digital cameras or you just take pictures of your vacations, I would recommend this Finepix. This is a good start camera. It's affordable, cheap & does what it's worth. There are lots of photo quality options, each one listing how many photo frames are left, so you know how many photos to take with that specific quality.
Summary: I bought this because it rated well on the web. I really like it because it is very easy to use, has a nice sized LCD view screen, and takes decent pictures. It's only fault is the picture is about a 3.2 Meg file. I was expecting bigger. I just got it, so I may have to make a setting change I don't know about yet. The only other minus is it isn't rechargeable like my other camera. You have to buy rechargable batteries and charge them yourself.
Summary: I purchased this camera Thanksgiving of 2009. I shot around 400 pictures with it. Slowly but surely the zoom lens stopped working. I went to a lot of trouble to ship it to FujiFilm. They found a few specks of sand in it and said that voided the warranty. I took good care of this camera and have to strongly disagree with the result I got from the company. I think they're just looking for reasons to not replace the camera. Big disappointment.
