Excerpt: The reason I bought the Fujifilm FinePix S100fs camera is it has a fixed lens with a large zoom range. Therefore there is no need to change / carry an extra lens with you. Also there is less chance of dust or dirt getting into the camera.
To save the cost of SLR lenses,Great image quality than other megazoom.

Summary: I have been in photography for many years ~ 37+. I've owned and played with many cameras. Even though I have a DSLR Canon 20D and 40D with a great line of lens, my favorite camera was the Sony F828.
Summary: Compared to other "bridge camera", I think fs 100 is the best for its class. Dont compare this camera to DSLR class, but compare it with "bridge camera" classes.Iit is a nice camera for beginners.
Pros: with 28-400mm lense, it is a good thing which makes easier for people to capture any photo for any range. 28 mm is wide enough and 400 mm was pretty long range for it. it is such a compact lense. Compare to DSLR camera, mostly, we need to change the lense again and again, probably the object runs...
Cons: What I hate from this camera, I t has a bulky appearance, and it is heavy (almost reach 1kg), The battery live is short as well.. you probably need 2 or 3 spare batteries., Quite slow on focus.
Summary: S100FS provides a nice balance between solid feel and light weight. In first place stays my Nikon camera (D80) using a Sony as back up camera but wanted to know about the new S100FS , so I am still "testing" but must admit some features are very well designed compared to Sony and Nikon !
Pros: like Summary
Cons: - the first time you turn the camera on and the time you need to set up the camera when you can take a photo., - the battery life, - range of the aperture / shutter speed ( 4sec. f.8) !
Summary: This is a great camera for a non DSLR. The features are extensive and the camera can be used either by a novice or advanced amateur with little difference in the final outcome. The zoom is very good and easy to use and you don't have to cart separate lenses, etc.
Summary: I have had the Fuji S100fs camera for almost a month now, and have quite a bit to say about it's performance. First, I am very impressed with the image quality in general and the low noise images produced by this camera.
Summary: I had great hope for this camera when it was announce back in Jan. so I placed an order for one back then just on the specs. I was worry that the lense was too optimistic and I was right. So lets back up a little bit here. I have been a long time user of digital cameras.
Summary: Let'sfirst get the price issue out of the way. It is entirely subjective so I haven't considered this in my appraisal. After nearly 30 years of lugging around a large and very heavy bag full of lenses and equipment I'd had enough so I was looking for everything all in one package.
