Excerpt: The reason I bought the Fujifilm FinePix S100fs camera is it has a fixed lens with a large zoom range. Therefore there is no need to change / carry an extra lens with you. Also there is less chance of dust or dirt getting into the camera. I have used Fujifilm cameras before, which made it easier for me to learn the new features. I absolutely enjoy the S100fs camera!
To save the cost of SLR lenses,Great image quality than other megazoom.

Summary: Great ISO.1600 usable.3200 and up depends upon conditions.Versatile lens with strong zoom and image stabilization.Neutral to bright and sharp colors.Good flash.Nice ergonomics.Easy menu.BUT heavy.Automatic mode works perfect.Potraits and macros are amzing.More than a point and shoot.Bridge between point & shoot and DSLR.Sensor size is 2\3 which is great for low light and night snap shots.Actually, did i say excellent?
Summary: Compared to other "bridge camera", I think fs 100 is the best for its class. Dont compare this camera to DSLR class, but compare it with "bridge camera" classes.Iit is a nice camera for beginners.
Pros: with 28-400mm lense, it is a good thing which makes easier for people to capture any photo for any range. 28 mm is wide enough and 400 mm was pretty long range for it. it is such a compact lense. Compare to DSLR camera, mostly, we need to change the lense again and again, probably the object runs/flies away while we change the DSLR lense. if you want to get such a lense (wide and long range)for DSLR, it will cost you more than the DSLR camera itself., The next thing, ...
Cons: What I hate from this camera, I t has a bulky appearance, and it is heavy (almost reach 1kg), The battery live is short as well.. you probably need 2 or 3 spare batteries., Quite slow on focus.
Summary: S100FS provides a nice balance between solid feel and light weight. In first place stays my Nikon camera (D80) using a Sony as back up camera but wanted to know about the new S100FS , so I am still "testing" but must admit some features are very well designed compared to Sony and Nikon !
Pros: like Summary
Cons: - the first time you turn the camera on and the time you need to set up the camera when you can take a photo., - the battery life, - range of the aperture / shutter speed ( 4sec. f.8) !
Excerpt: "I bought this camera to take with me on an expedition into the Amazon rainforest, which is one of the most difficult situations to take photography due to its constant low lighting and moving subjects. The auto function on the camera was good, but was inadequate in low lighting, I found if I switched to manual I got much better photographs, but the problem with that was that it took me a while to get used to the functions before being quick enough ...
Summary: Let'sfirst get the price issue out of the way. It is entirely subjective so I haven't considered this in my appraisal. After nearly 30 years of lugging around a large and very heavy bag full of lenses and equipment I'd had enough so I was looking for everything all in one package. This is where the S100FS meets my needs perfectly. I'm no longer picking which lense to use as it's all in one.
Excerpt: "I had the pleasure of getting my hands on a demo model from work an it was an experience. This camera looks and feels great, nice and bulky in the hand, might be a little too big for smaller hands. The boot up time is a joy, almost instantaneous from off to shooting that first picture. The wealth of controls this camera has to offer is unparalleled by any bridge camera currently on the market, while all of these features take a while to get used to, ...
Pros: Suitable for all skill levels, Great response, Increased control over pictures
Cons: Takes a while to become familiar, Price a little high on release
Gutes Produkt mit guten Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis
