Casio QV-3500EX

PC Magazine
27 June 2001
  • Excerpt: About the size of a typical 35-mm SLR camera, the Casio QV-3500EX has a boxy design that verges on clunky. But it's comfortable to hold and operate in one hand. And it's the only 3-megapixel camera we looked at that supports the IBM Microdrive (you'll have to buy one separately, of course).

Expert Review

Dc Resource
27 June 2001
  • Excerpt: Though perhaps better known for electronic watches, Casio is actually a pioneer of consumer digital cameras. Their QV-3000EX (see our review) was the first 3 Megapixel camera on the market, and they have cameras that date back to the days before digicams were cool (anyone remember the QV-10?).
  • Pros: Great value with Microdrive (costs less than most cameras that include 8MB cards), Full manual controls, Best Shot mode - handy, Uncompressed TIFF support, Very good playback mode, Zoom works in movie mode
  • Cons: Cheesy plastic body, crummy CompactFlash slot, Some photos seem over-compressed, No sound in movie mode, No rechargeable batteries included; PhotoLoader software isn't great.

Casio QV-3500EX
