The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 is about one inch thick and weighs 5.4 ounces, and though it isn’t the slimmest of the Casio Exilim series of digital cameras it is one of the simplest. It is very easy to navigate. The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 10-megapixel uses a standard 38mm to 114mm equivalent 3x zoom lens. This camera has the most incredible zoom feature and shoots pretty well. The camera features the Casio’s antishake DSP digital-image stabilization and Best Shot scene preset modes. The Casio EX-Z1050 comes with a 2.6-inch, 115,000-pixel LCD screen. The camera takes 1.4 seconds to start up and capture its first image, and continual shots every 1.9 seconds. With the flash enabled, that time increases to 2.4 seconds. One feature of the Exilim EX-Z1050 ultra-compact digital camera that makes it special is its display mode on the front of the camera body and holds only a few buttons on its back panel. However its low resolution makes virtually everything you see through it look soft and grainy; thus making framing shots difficult due to this blurry display. And as the camera doesn’t have a viewfinder one must be content with the focus. One user found it to be a very nice compact camera with the display being very detailed and crystal clear; pictures taken are good as well as very detailed motion video. Another user was satisfied with the battery lift and found the resolution good too. But to take full advantage of all the different options and settings, one must know all about the camera first. The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 is very easy to use and its great size definitely makes it an excellent camera, especially for first timers.
See lessThe Casio Z1050 looks like almost every other point-and-shoot digital camera with its boxy measurements and extending 3x optical zoom lens. But the Z1050 has something most other slim cams don’t: 10.1 megapixels. This Exilim has purely automatic modes and few manual controls and retails for $269. Read more
The Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 ($269) is a compact camera featuring a 10 Megapixel CCD, 3X optical zoom, 2.6-inch "wide and bright" LCD display, and long battery life. It's the replacement to the EX-Z1000, and the little brother to the 12 Megapixel Exilim EX-Z1200. While the Z1050 lacks manual exposure controls, it's loaded (and I mean loaded) with scene modes. At first glance, the 10.1-megapixel 3x zoom f/2.8-5.1 (38-114 35mm equiv zoom) Casio EX-Z1050 ($230 street), available in silver, blue, black or pink, is almost indistinguishable from Casio's EX-Z1000, but the camera's performance has seen a nice improvement over its predecessor in noise control . The bottom line: If it weren't for the poor LCD, the Exilim EX-Z1050 would be a pretty good camera. Read more

I got this as a gift from my father who received it from a business contact as a thank you gesture. This is my first camera I've ever owned. As a tech savy kind of guy who previously didn't really have any interest in cameras I am very satisfied with this product. I think it's a GREAT first camera. My only gripe is sometimes i take multiple pictures of the same thing bc the screen makes the pic look blurry sometimes when it is not. I'll load them up to my computer and... Read more

I bought this in Feb of 2008. I'm a very casual picture take and have probably taken less than 1,000 pictures total during the life of the camera. I am very careful with this camera (as with all electronics) and it is majorly babied. It has never been dropped, exposed to water, nothing. I have an excellent case with full padding for it. It takes great pictures outside. Inside is a different matter--they often turn out blurry and fuzzy no matter what you do. They tend to... Read more or see product
