Summary: Even though it is 6MP the picture quality is very good, and so is the video quality. Camera responsiveness is fast, and the camera is very compact. I really liked this camera, but all of a sudden it seems something got damaged in the camera; the pictures appear very bright, and totally white in bright environments. I only used it for about 2 years, and didn't use it very much. The camera was very good while it worked.
Summary: My lug around camera was a hulking Nikon D200. I wanted something small to take on vacation and to the pubs, so, after doing some research, bought this. I won't belabor the upsides, just say it takes really good pictures. My only complaints are: the digital stabilization is a scam. Instead of using an optical system, Casio simply increases ISO setting which forces an increase in shutter speed.
Summary: I had to return my camera TWICE while it was under warranty within first few months of getting it. Casio told me they'd reimburse for shipping the 2nd time and never followed through. Once camera was repaired the 2nd time, I found myself happy with the camera. It's convenient and takes good pix. The macro feature is only one I'd say isn't up to par.
Summary: I purchased this as my "bar" camera to back up my Nikon D80. Love the size and features and price. It take great photos but be very careful!!! My screen cracked after a few weeks and it was never dropped or abused. Casio wants $100 to fix the screen of my 1 month old camera. If you are very gentle with it I am sure it will prove to be a great camera. DON'T PUT THIS IN YOUR POCKET!
Summary: Beware of Casio warranty coverage. In less than one year three small screws fell out of the base of the camera causing the case to open and allowing dirt and dust into the camera body. The lens jammed. Casio refuses to honor it's warrany saying that it is not a manufacturer's defect. I caution you before you purchase any casio products. Check out ebay and see how many of these used and defective cameras are up for sale.
Excerpt: The clerk at the store took the liberty of showing me the photo quality of the camera, and I have to say that it does take a better picture than my old Cybershot. Though some of the click and shoot photos were out of focus, the others were of really good quality. But upon handling the product, I realized what my friend had said about the durability of the camera. It doesn’t seem to be the type of camera that would outlast my Cybershot.
Summary: The thing looks nice and my wife loves the color of the thing. It's slim and fits in her hand bag easy she loves the cute look. Operation is simple and the "best shot" mode is easy for a real novice. (like my wife) Picture quality is so so. Scaled down to show on a PC screen they seem to look good but once you focused in to 100% scale you easily notice that they are really pixilated and probably the quailty is about the same or possibly a little worse than my Sony 5.1mp...
Summary: Nice camera but the pictures did not show colors accurately. I returned the camera. I have a Casio EX-S3 which is 3 years old and I believe the color representation from that camera is more accurate.
Summary: I like s600's design, it's nice, and the shot function included is useful for beginner, it can takes shot when recording movie. the only problem is the upper half of lens cover cannot close after 1 month of normal using. i don't know what's wrong w/ it or it only happens to my camera.
