Summary: This a great point and shoot, but I was very disappointed in photo quality in low light, and ESP. When I cropped in iPhoto, I lost clarity. The light metering was very poor, for what needed in getting really good photos of jewelry. I am selling it and have bought the cannon ps. g12,which I LOVE!!!
Summary: I did not expect much from the camera given its size and cost. I got it to quickly take pictures of DIY projects in progress. For a pocket camera, it does the job well. Autofocus tends to be unreliable; for some reason, objects at infinity (e.g. the skyline) are problematic. Exposure auto-settings (ISO, white balance, EV) produce over-saturated pictures by choosing higher ISOs, also giving pixel noise.
Summary: It's rare that you would be unhappy with something so small. In fact, this camera is super slim. I carried it in a soft case in my pocket and would find it ON when I went to use it with almost all the battery life drained. Figured out that there is an "any button on" setting where although turned off, if you press any button, the camera turns on. This setting is defaulted to on.
Summary: I had the S10 that I was very happy with but gave to a friend. I was looking for another S10 but the S12 was the same price. It is a nice camera BUT slow to start up, about 3-4 seconds. Also after taking photo another 3-4 secs......busy please wait!!! I hate the fact that Casio have added a proprietary USB socket (as with the S10) why they done this is beyond me! The best thing about it is the size and ease of use.
Summary: I was really disappointed with this camera (especially after readng all the great reviews). I own a Minolta Dimage, which is about 4 years old and wanted to replace it with a smaller, sleeker camera. The Casio is just that-great size, wonderful features (which were easy to locate and understand), and a sleek body. But the picture quality was terrible. The pictures were always washed out-no matter how I tried to adjust the camera.
Excerpt: Decent camera with bad movie video function. I have bought this camera mainly for its HD video function, but was totally disappointed. The video recording is restricted to 10 minutes length and the videos recorded in HD are out of sync with audio. The photos shot with S12 were actually good and the big crystal clear display is also a plus. Problems: My cam made some weird sound sometimes during focusing, so I brought it back to store and got my money back.

Summary: I had a prior version of this camera that had a docking station to charge the battery and transfer pictures to storage. It was simple. You put the camera in the dock and that was it. This version does not have the docking station. It requires you to remove the battery to charge it. If you remove the battery for a period of time you will lose your settings.
Summary: Loved the camera, very slim, beautiful video and wonderful pictures. Received the wrong color. I ordered pink and received champagne. But I love the color they sent me. Within a week the shutter would only close halfway. I have not contacted Casio to see how they will deal with that. Hopefully they will fix or replace it. Everyone who sees it is amazed at the size and quality of the pictures. Fits right in your pocket or pocketbook. I keep it with me all the time.
