Summary: I've owned two generations of this camera and both lasted only a short while. The 1st began to malfunction after about 2 months. Instead of allowing me to turn it on and take photos, it would go directly to date time settings, and I would have to reset the date time every time I turned it on.
Camera Breaks and Casio has Irritating Customer Service

Summary: My camera has broken twice. I bought it at Radioshack and unfortunately lost the receipt. I went into the store to return the camera and after like 30 days you have to send it back to Casio (which of course is a pain). So I needed to get a reprint of the receipt, fill out some paperwork online, and pay for postage to have the camera returned. They did a good job with turning it around and getting it back to me with without charge.
Summary: I usually shoot with a DSLR and wanted to get a new small camera to carry around and replace my 5 year old Pentax Optio S4i. My main criteria for picking the camera were weight, HD video capture, image quality, and ease of use. I've since updated this list to include image stabilization. The casio s12 is one of the smallest cameras you can get. Reviews also said the camera was snappy.
Video Recording limited compared to S10 (previous model)

Summary: Despite the plus of offering an HD option in the S12, Casio has reverted to the old AVI JPEG format rather than sticking with MPEG4 H.264 which was used in last year's model, the S10. Also, while the S10 could record video as long as the battery/memory would hold, the S12 is limited to 10 minutes. Very disappointing to see Casio switch away from the one of the key aspects of their Exilim Card line that they actually got right.

Summary: I have owned 4 previous versions of this camera. They are fantastic. I use them for work and for family. This one just doesn't work. Picture quality is worse. When you make movies, the video is out of sync with the audio. I think they tried to put too much in one little camera. I'm returning this and buying one of the older models.
Summary: The camera is small and fits into easily into my front pockets, however the picture quality needs major improvement. PROS: - Size (small and compact) - Decent Videos CONS: - picture Quality (even with Best Shot/Manual/Fine settings) - Weak zoom - Build quality (Weak and plastic feel to the camera)
Summary: I've never had to give a bad review.. and I really wanted to like this camera. I perused the casio website for quite a long time, looking at their photo examples. I expected this camera to take decent photos out of the box, it did not. After making adjustments, the photos are NOT good. Color is washed out, the images are blurry and pixelated on the ends. My old Canon G2 at 4 mp still takes vastly superior photos. This is going back today.
