Summary: I bought the camera to use for improving my golf swing using the high speed capability. It was easy to use and I was able to see for myself the issue I needed to resolve. It also is handy for hd movies if you are not interested in movie resolutions.
Excerpt: The Casio Customer service here in Taiwan is the biggest problem I have besides the camera breaking down. 1st time it broke the lens wouldn't retract and I took it in and they said "there was some condensation build up in the lens.... did you take it to the beach or somewhere humid? Because that's bad for the camera". Long story short they replaced the lens unit and in the drawer it went. About 6 months later, I took the camera out and the lens as stuck again.
Manual Shutter Speed Control - Great for analyzing golf swings or anything.
12 September 2012
Summary: Purchased this camera to film golf swing in slow-mo. This camera is the only one that I could find that can accomplish this at this price point. What is different about this camera from newer Casio models at this price point is that, from what I can tell, newer models no longer provide MANUAL control over shutter speed. This is essential for analyzing the golf swing in slow-mo.
Summary: This is just an amazing camera for people that play golf. the Camera can take a video of your swing and slow it down to 1,000 frames per second in the correct light or 420 frames in average light. You can see where ou are going well.
Excerpt: . . . if the flash would charge faster and if it could save raw files faster. Both are Major faults with this camera. I don't understand how Dpreview could have rated it so highly. I baught the camera mostly based on the review done here but boy was I disappointed. If I plan to should with flash, I had better send out for pizza because it is going to be a long evening. Problems: 1. Very slow charging the flash. 2. Very slow saving raw files.
Summary: I bought this for a xmas present for my husband. He need a camera that you can change the shutter speed manually, to enhance the experience when giving a golf lesson. We were first directed to a newer version of this camera but unfornately when CASIO came out with the new version they eliminated the ability to manually change the shutter speed.
Excerpt: I bought a Z500 as my first Casio camera and was very pleased with it, until its focus broke down and decided to buy a new model. I purchased FH100 mostly for its design, wide angle lens and 10x optical zoom. As well as I found HD movie recording handy. Now only after a year, I have a malfunctioning piece of parts that Casio won't even bother replying to my support requests.
Summary: Seems to be a high quality camera with great features. The features are a bit tricky to get the hang of, without reading the instructions. That being said, I am sure i will get the hang of it soon. The ability to do high speed video at an amazing 1000fps. is awesome. The 10x optical zoom is great also. I would recommend it to a friend.
Summary: Good product specially with the high speed video function is very useful for sport record. But there have some problem with the one that I bought, It look like there've some leak or short circuit because I heard some noise, and the battery can use for only short time.
Excerpt: I came from an older Kodak easy share. The Casio seems like a fine camera. Close up shots are very grainy much more so than the Kodak. Wide angle lens is a great feature. High speed video is also great. I took some video of humming birds and you could see the wings beating clear as day, very cool. Biggest complaint is the button layout. The power is a touch button on the top. You cant pick up the camera or pull it out of a case without accidentally tuning it on.
