Good camera with an ability to shoot high speed video
14 June 2014
Summary: Bought this camera for the ability to shoot high speed video. This is my second camera first lasted about a year before high speed video stop working, so I would recommend to get an extended warranty
Summary: I bought this camera to record my shooting sessions with airrifles. This unit is like that used by several other airgunners and works very well in that mode. The stills that I took turned out very well. The operators manual was in Chinese, which I don't read or write! A link to the Casio web site garnered the English PDF Owners manual. I am still learning how to take advantage of all the features this camera has to offer.
Summary: Wanted this camera since reviews said it had very good panoramic and video capabilities in addition to std photo and was reasonably priced. Ordered from Japan since this is not available in US. Camera works great including panoramic mode. One issue: very small sliding plastic tab that holds battery/memory door closed broke very quickly. Using piece of tape to hold closed. Did not try to get fixed since I ordered from Japan.
Summary: Bought this to take pictures of my golf swing to send to my coach. The best thing is that it is compact (I can carry it in my golf bag) and it takes slow motion pictures over 1000 fps. The only draw back is the faster the frame rate the smaller the video picture is.
Excerpt: Ok, so I got this camera from Hong Kong 2 days ago. Paid $750 for it. It's really, really good. Except for one thing. It's huge. I thought it would be the same size as most of the small pocket cameras, but it's twice that size. That said, the lens is massive, the click ring on the front is solid as a tank, the LCD is articulated, and the images are incredible compared to the other smaller cameras I've had.
Summary: My only problem was that everything was set to Japanese even the instruction book! But no worries down loaded the English instructions and was in business. Great camera ! I bought an older mode several years ago in Japan and it is still going strong.
Summary: I bought this for troubleshooting high speed industrial equipment where I work. As a regular point and shoot camera, it's great. I was hoping for much better resolution on the high speed video (aka super slow-motion video). Like other reviewers noted, it does not come with an English manual and is not set up for English language menus out of the box. But it was easy to figure out how to change that and you can find an English version of the manual on line.
Summary: This does everything I wanted. The 1000 fps video works ok, you can clearly see the action. The zoom is great. When taking regular photos, the rolling shutter is pretty slow, for example I tried to take a picture of lightning using burst mode and the bolt only ever appears in a few horizontal lines. Using the self timer to take a self portrait is almost impossible unless you use manual focus.
