Excerpt: This time Canon has truly outdone themselves with the new PowerShot TX-1 Digital Camera and Video Recorder. While this product has been marketed to professional photographers and videographers, the amateur photographer like myself is finding it a great product to have in their possession.
Summary: The Canon PowerShot TX-1 is an extremely versatile compact still and video camera. I was initially looking for a compact unit that combined good quality imagery with a cool looking package on a budget. What I got did not disappoint. First, let me tell you what this isn't. This little machine is not made to meet the rigorous demands of even semi-professional photographers and videographers. This unit is made for FUN!
Summary: Great lenses and works great with the Stereo Data Maker (SDM) 3D system - just download the program onto your SD card(s), insert the card(s) in the camera(s)and you can take perfectly synched 3D stills and movies - the program on your card does all the work and all you need is a switch which you can make for a few dollars or purchase (see SDM on google)- only works with certain Canon cameras.
Summary: The ideal vacation camera. It is one of the first SDLR cams that truly shoots HD as well as taking pics. The small size however does not allow for a lot of panning etc. as any movement is immediately picked up and might make spectators dizzy later. So a small monopod or tripod are a must. I only shot video so cannot say anything about the pics. The fact that it is metal (aluminum) adds to its appeal as far as I'm concerned, and it is the size of a pack of playing cards.
Summary: Nice camera and nice camcorder combo...It did not exist until the TX1 and on top of that, small enough to carry in the pocket (about the size of a pack of cigarettes). I've always wished there was something like this and so when I found out that Canon has one, I decided to buy one. Lucky enough to find a bargain on eBay and also found out that it was actually a discontinued model.
Summary: I bought this camera/camcorder hoping that because of its portability I would actually take more pictures and video of my family. (and I am!) in the past I was reluctant to drag out my considerably larger camcorder. this takes very nice pictures. I have a video of my daughter singing on youtube if you search under "emily sings at keikos recital" you can see the video quality.
Summary: I bought the Canon TX-1 while planning a trip to Yosemite National Park. I wanted a compact, light weight camera (its about the size/weight of a double deck of playing cards) that would take good quality video (it takes 720 HD) and still pictures (it does 7.1 MP). I was also looking for a camera that would be smart enough to have both automatic "point and shoot" settings with image stabilization (for pictures on the fly) and extensive manual control of features like...
Summary: The Canon PowerShot Digital Camera TX1 7.1MP with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom was a Christmas gift to my husband from myself. My husband is a sound engineer and does frequent movies of his work. He absolutely loves the camera and has been going around filming everything! You should have seen his face when he opened his gift! Priceless!
