  • Summary: When I bought this camera I was hoping for some good low-light photos without a flash so the first thing I did when I got it was take some indoor pictures of still subjects (such as a my children's toys) under the artificial lights at night. I was pretty disappointed. The shots were all either grainy or blurry. I also noticed that the files were only 1-2MB. That is, they were VERY compressed.

It's an okay indoor camera for the person that has never taken a picture.

  • Summary: If you like to take pictures outside this is NOT the model of camera to choose. Without a view finder this camera is pretty much useless outdoors since the screen becomes completely obscured by moderate outside light. If it's a clear sunny day you are not even able to tell if the camera is turned on or not unless you use BOTH hands to surround the screen to block all reflections. Why is this relevant?

Defeating the panaroma shot on purpose? Wither AE lock?

Book Nut, Amazon

  • Summary: I'm shopping for a camera in this class, and settled on either the Nikon L830, Canon 510HS, Fujifilm S8200, or Sony DSCH300. I'm a Canon-kind-of-guy, and was happy to decide to get the Canon after a comparison. The Canon has some drawbacks, but it scored enough for me to go with it—until I realized what a dumb design it truly is (fortunately I read the manual first). I.e., I probably will not spend my money on it.

  • Summary: The Zoom works fantastic however if your subject moves or slightly moves the picture is always blurry!!!!!! This camera is not worth a dime unless your subject is always completely STILL.......PICK ANOTHER CAMERA!!!!!!

Huge waste of money

Bitsy, Canon

  • Conclusion: Worst purchase I made all year! I bought this camera at Best Buy at the suggestion of the salesman. I told him I wanted a camera specifically to take sports photos. A football season & halfway through a basketball season & I've yet to get a pic that's not a complete blur. Went back to Best Buy, salesman #2 couldn't believe this was the camera suggested for my specific needs, but told me of a few "tricks" that might help....nothing helped!
  • Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor image quality, Short battery life, Complicated controls/menu, terrible sports/action pics
