DONT GET THIS IF YOU NEED SPONTANIOUS SHOTS!!

Shvonse, Amazon
3 September 2014
  • Summary: Unbelievable zoom. Buuutttt... If you are considering the need for fast shots such as big game etc.You will not like this camera at all. They positioned the timer for the shutter on the thumb wheel and when you grab your camera to hold it. Your thumb more times than not squeezes lightly the thumb wheel and that immediately put your camera into a 5 to 30 sec. delay so for the next 5 to 30 seconds the camera is counting down to automatically take the shot.

Great service from the store but i dont recommend the camera for shootings on the beach

Pablo Lopez, Amazon
8 May 2014
  • Summary: I got an incomplete package but as soon as i said something i got a refund so thanks for your great attention!!! Nevertheless, i would say to people to consider buying this camera if you want/plan to use it on the beach. I just bought the camera a couple of weeks ago and took it to the beach and it turns out the lens is not recommended to use on the beach and now it has a lense error.

Not what wanted

gramma, B&H Photo
16 April 2014
  • Excerpt: Just returned from a trip to Africa and am happy with the pictures I took with this camera. However, I specifically asked for a camera with a good viewfinder. The view finder was very hard to use, couldn't see clearly what I was taking a picture of. I had to resort to always using the bigger picture screen.
  • Pros: Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time

The bundle content is different than on the picture - that is not fair

Moehrendorf, Amazon
22 March 2014
  • Summary: Unfortunately the bundle doesn't exactly contain what was described and what was on the picture. The camera case is smaller as shown and doesn't have 2 side pockets. Appearantly it was recently changed to a smaller one since other customers were refering to a big camera case. The SD card holder is a different one, out of plastics and too big to stow. The bottle of the lense care fluid was leaking and created a mass in the plastic bag.

Not as good as SX 40

pwren, B&H Photo
5 November 2013
  • Excerpt: I am a birder and amateur photographer. I have owned, and loved, both the predessors to this model. Loved the SX40 so much I recommended it to numerous friends...think I must have sold 15 or so of those cameras for Canon. I could get good clear shots of birds and animals that, at times, would turn out better than my husband's shots with his full frame DSLR and big telephoto lens. We both shoot in JPEG.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Stabilization, Small / Compact
  • Cons: Poor Image Quality

Could have been the best.

ghppoiju, CNET
10 October 2013
  • Summary: If you go back and buy the cable so you can read the instruction manual, you still have to take your computer with you so you can read the manual. My computer doesn't fit in my camera bag. You also can not load your pics to your computer buy inserting the card into the computer, you need to load photos from the camera that you don't have the cable for. Big mistake for Canon.
  • Pros: Great zoom with lots of options
  • Cons: NO instruction manual. No kidding. The manual comes on a CD that has to be loaded on the computer, but you need a cable to attached the camera to your computer before the manual will load and the cable is NOT included. Can't load your pic's either

Blisset, DP Review
2 October 2013
  • Excerpt: It's the best superzoom camera, but you can use it in full daylight only . It has a very poor F6.5 at full zoom , I hope Canon do much better in next model, because if you want use it in evening it's blind in videos and photos without flash. The bad F6.5 aperture cause diffraction limit so the real resolution is 1,7 megapixel s. Another bad thing is it has very slow autofocus (it takes about 3 seconds to focus!

Camera OK, accessory kit not.

CB, Amazon
28 July 2013
  • Summary: The camera seems fine, but the kit is of almost no value except for the battery. The kit comes with two tripods. Both flimsy little things that are absolutely not useable with this camera when the telephoto lens is extended. I wish I had bought the extras separately myself and gotten things that really work.
