Conclusion: Takes amazing photos as I have come to expect with Canon Cameras. Very easy to use with the well known and trusted menu system. Everything I have come to expect from Canon. I'm going to have fun tinkering with the almost unlimited amount of control you're giving in manual mode.
Pros: Durable, Superior build quality, Easy to use
Summary: Tried to claim cash back and Canon refused on the basis that I bought the camera through a third party supplier. If you read the small print it does say this, so even though I bought it on Amazon, I didn't buy it from Amazon themselves (which is ok for cashback). Annoying!
Summary: The Camera is certainly value for money, Very good pictures the GPS is very basic, very good zoom functions but the flash pops up in a very awkwardly into your hand when using it . The Seller was excellent. But I wanted a little bit more from the Camera. So I decided to send it back for a refund.

Summary: machine works fine. There are a lot of functions I still have to discover reading the 197 pages manual. pity there is no manual in the package so you have to download it from the canon website. the installation on the pc is pretty difficult.
Would Be a Fantastic Camera if Not for Battery Issues

Summary: This camera would have received a 5 star review, but for the fact that shortly after the year's warranty expired, it started having major problems with the battery, that is, it would turn off and need the battery to be put in and out a few times to restart.
Summary: I bought this camera in the US ( discounted $210 inc. tax ) despite knowing the battery issue as it takes excellent still pictures for the price. It has the latest firmware and the battery only lasts three to four minutes video recording before you get battery low warning.
Summary: As lots here have said this camera takes and excellent photo in most situations, has GPS ect and lots of useful scene modes. But, battery life is woeful! I bought this recently because I hoped after the year or so that this camera has been on the market Canon would have sorted the problem.
Summary: I've had this camera for about 6 months and while I really love the camera, it's size, it's functions and the quality of photographs I am sending it back due to the fault mentioned in some other reviews. When the battery runs down I recharge but it lasts only minutes.
Summary: wasnt sure whether this would be a worthwhile upgrade from the canon sx220hs as they have the same sensor and the sx220 has the better/faster lens. What the sx280 gives you is extra reach and a way faster processor (digic 6).
