Big improvement over older models

Summary: After a trip in 2013 decided I needed a new automatic digital camera that was good in low light environments. C-Net had a positive review. Amazon also had many positive reviews. Recently used on a trip. Completely satisfied. Works well in low light situations. Prior to my trip, I called customer support since I wanted shots to be at hd quality. Suggested using the p setting. Good advice. BTW the battery was not an issue.
Summary: I adore the camera and pictures. the batteries are not long lasting and they are very disappointing. If I go on vacation I can easily go through 3-4 batteries a day and need to constantly re-charge. very much a pain in foreign countries.
Great features, extended zoom, and virtually no Shutter Lag

Summary: The camera comes with a nice assortment of add-ons and trinkets, but the real joy is in using the camera. For a small increase in size, it has features of both a great camera and a very good video recorder. Shutter lag is almost non-existent and recycle time for the flash is also faster that other cameras, and the zoom (20x optical) is better than the competition. Beats the Nikon pocketable cameras I've owned and given.
Summary: I will tell everyone I know how I love this little camera! I grabbed it quickly as we were leaving for a trip and I wanted a small camera with a quicker shutter speed. I thought I would use the "other" settings but I ended up only using the camera on automatic. My pictures are wonderful with clear, crisp color, the zoom is outstanding, the detail is great... everyone thought I had used a more extensive camera.
Summary: I bought this camera 3 months ago and have been very pleased. It's small enough to fit into a pocket...maybe a bit heavy but certainly not unwieldy. The zoom is amazing. 20x optical puts you in the middle of a shot even from 50 yards away. I took some amazing photos of the harvest moon a month ago...could see all the details without adding a telescope to the mix. Unbelievable.
Summary: I have been waiting to write this review until after our trip to New York. It performed flawlessly the entire trip. I turn the GPS on and off so that the shortened battery life is not an issue with me. It is done by just performing 3 easy steps. The Wifi could be a little easier to understand but it too seems that it is just learning curve and once I get used to it, it will be easier to operate.
Impressed with its low-light shots and wide zoom range

Summary: I bought this after seeing photos my daughter took at night with the predecessor of this model (SX280) and knowing my 10-year old, higher end (for its time anyway) definitely couldn't get such clear shots. I eventually want to get a DSLR, but I'm not ready to spring for one yet, and I also thought it might be nice to have something more compact for those times when it's not convenient to bring a larger camera (and I'm a dinosaur in that I don't have a cell phone, no less...
