Excerpt: It's compact, easy to carry and the battery life is great. The GPS function is amazing and the quality of the pictures is excellent too. I have no complaints about this camera, since it does the job pretty well. I love it.
How I would love to give this camera a higher rating

Summary: How I would love to give this camera a higher rating. The photos are really fantastic. BUT the low battery indicator that shuts the camera off randomly completely ruins this camera's reliability (you can't take great pictures if the camera has no power). The firmware update did nothing to fix this problem and the issue gets worse and worse for me. Taking video (videos look GREAT) will almost always shut the camera off...other times I can record as long as I want.
Summary: I had to rate it 1 star purely for the major disappointment in the video/battery performance. This was the main reason I purchased the camera. I wanted to merge my video and still cameras into one portable hybrid. I do not want anyone else to make the mistake of purchasing this camera with video recording in mind. Look elsewhere! Shame on Canon for allowing this product to hit the market.
Summary: Save your time and money. This camera was brand new when I received it and upon first use the low battery indicator was showing. This happened after I had fully charged the battery. It appears that I am not the only one that encountered this issue. This along with several other issues are plaguing this camera. Canon doesn't seem to want to acknowledge these problems. At this rate Canon will lose most if not all of their loyal customers if they do not fix this issue.
Summary: Seriously, don't buy this camera... It's a great camera. Takes good pictures. Video quality is average if it can figure out what to actually focus on. 1 star rating is for the battery problem that makes the camera pretty much unusable. If you had hoped to take video of your kids on this camera, you won't be able to on this camera. If you are lucky enough to shoot a video, it will kill your battery in about 20 seconds.
Summary: Love this little camera! I am an amateur photographer and have had many different point and shoot cameras. This one by far has been my favorite. Still small enough to fit in my purse but capable enough to take on my most recent trip to Africa. My photos were comparable to people who had those large lenses. This camera has a 20 times zoom that gave me many clear shots from a distance. So often with a long zoom the picture isn't precise but this camera performs very well!
Summary: The camera is fine, except for the wifi. You have 2 wifi choices: bad and worse. 1. you can connect to your phone, to do so, you must start up the wifi on the camera, then switch to the phone and have the phone's wifi connect to the camera's wifi, then you have to start up the canon app on the phone, then you can transfer images from the camera to the phone, but you have to "select" the images on the camera one at a time (but not more than 50 in a batch), then once...
