It's the BEST!
2 June 2014
Summary: HEY! People, I have tried other cameras over the last 44 + years (started at age 11) and I always come back to Canon. For the last 6 years I have gotten 3 Canon PowerShots. I use mine DAILY, having it with me constantly, I put it through a LOT in two years! Most people would probably take at least 4-6 years to put it through as much as I do. Photograpy is a Hobby for me ... but one I could hardly live without, as it is my way of expressing myself.
Summary: So far I have enjoyed the camera. I took some long distance shots of birds across the pond in my back yard, and they came out much better than expected. Still have not shot any video's but I am sure with Canon's reputation, they will come out great.
Summary: The camera is great. I just need to figure out how to use it more. It takes great pictures especially of flowers which I love to take pictures of. I wish that instructions came with the camera that showed all the different features. It just shows the basic things. The battery life is not good. They need to work on that more. I was glad to get another battery so I can have another battery when the first one dies.
Summary: First off, I had the same problem with the low battery light coming on when the video portion was used on this camera. I contacted Canon and had someone stay on the phone line while I downloaded and upgraded firmware. The reason I had a Canon rep on the line with me is because I wanted to get it right the first time. The Rep had me download the firmware onto a SDHC memory card via a card reader through my USB port.
Summary: Great camera just don't load the ImageBrowser disc into your computer, it takes all photos on your drive and inserts them into ImageBrowser and unless you are familiar with ImageBrowser (I'm not) you lose everything!
Summary: I just got purchased this camera January 2014. I read some review on a battery problem, but it was said the latest firmware fixed this issue. IT DID NOT. I got the camera, charged a new battery and put it in. On still shots, all worked fine, but as soon as I hit the movie button, the battery light started to flash, and the camera turned off. I turned that camera back on in still mode, and it showed full battery. All worked fine until you use the movie mode.
Summary: After a trip in 2013 decided I needed a new automatic digital camera that was good in low light environments. C-Net had a positive review. Amazon also had many positive reviews. Recently used on a trip. Completely satisfied. Works well in low light situations. Prior to my trip, I called customer support since I wanted shots to be at hd quality. Suggested using the p setting. Good advice. BTW the battery was not an issue.
