An excellent purchase

Summary: Having lost my Powershot SX210, I was tempted to go for the latest model. However, reviews for the 280 and 600 were not brilliant and identified some annoying flaws. This older model was offered at a very good price and provides everything I need.
Summary: The main good point is that the pictures are very clear and sharp. Even indoor snaps come out very nicely. The zoom is powerful but you do get some camera shake at that magnification so you would have to rest it on something to get a clear shot. It's easy to use but there's a lot that you can do with it. The only negative points, but not worth taking a whole star off for, is that the battery doesn't last more than a day of constant use so you'll need to get a spare.
Summary: We bought this as a Christmas present for my ten year old, and he's taking some decent photos on it! The options wheel is similar to other canon cameras - this has options to amend shutter speed etc...plus take video. You do need an SD card - we got a 16gb card to go with it, which allows for plenty of photographs. The back has a static LD screen, with no viewfinder.
Summary: Wonderful camera with many features. Looks good, fantastic zoom facility and very good photo and video defintion. Lots of useful effects but above all very user friendly. Your finger can get in the way of the flash popping up, dependinng how you hold the camera. Robust build and overall fantastic value for money.
Pros: Image quality, build quality, versatility, features, ease of use, none I can think of!
Summary: I upgraded to this camera from a SX220, and it is a great camera, takes amazing pictures, and it is worth reading through the manual to discover all the different settings and what they can do. My SX220 broke, but I still have the batteries and charger, which unfortunately do not fit this model, maybe this is something that Canon would consider in the future, as I don't see why the batteries etc. couldn't be interchangeable.
Summary: This camera was a marvellous purchase. The quality of images delivered, ease of use and compactness together with its 20X zoom magnification cannot help but put a grin on one's face. Really, you cannot go wrong with a Canon camera and my SX 240 HS and I have no hesitation in recommending it. It represents great value for money and certainly punches well above its weight in terms of specification and quality.
Pros: Easy To Use, Huge Selection Of Modes, Excellent Stablizer, Comfortable Controls, Strong Construction, Easy Setup, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom Feature, Do With A Better Grip
Summary: I also have a Canon G15 which to me is one of the best pocket cameras you can get. It has a really fast 1.8 lens for very low light and optically it is absolutely fantastic. I got this Canon SX240 to give me a bigger range of focus, even though the lens is much slower, 3.5 - 6.8 but for such a huge zoom scale it is acceptable, also it has a wider 25mm (35mm equivalent) and a much longer zoom 500m, so its great for bright days and far off points of focus while out on my...
