Summary: Way more complicated than my last camera and with many functions that will never see the light of day. It's also heavier than my last camera. However the zoom and ultra close up is what I bought it for and it mostly delivers in both areas although can be tempramental.
Summary: Found that this camera exceeded my expectations. Tried the video mode and didn't notice any noise in playback. Being left handed the pop up flash took a bit of getting used to. Despite this the camera is certainly worth a recommendation.
Summary: Have 2 other Canon cameras - the latest one is the SX 200IS with a 12 zoom lens - both excellent products. Based on above experiences, bought the SX 240 HS for my wife and replace the Canon IXUS 900 Ti with a 3 X Zoom. Both the 2 old cameras use the same NB-5L Battery and Battery Charger.

Summary: I decided to buy the SX240HS because my SX20IS is simply not a pocket camera, as a result I often don't take it with me and so miss photographic opportunities. I ordered the SX240HS from Amazon on the 12th of November, it arrived on the morning of 14th by first class post.
