Summary: Not being a photo buff, I have (not unreasonably) come to expect that a point and shoot camera will take much of the need to think about which settings will be required to turn out an ok or even good photo... this camera fails to deliver.
Pros: A good zoom, makes the camera on my cell phone seem good (by comparison to this device)... and... is an expensive paper weight.
Summary: I purchased this camera before a trip to Yosemite NP in June. I took over 900 photos on the trip while learning it's features and trying out many different settings and options. For the most part, the pictures are great! However, this camera really struggles with sunny outdoor shots.
CAMERA NOT INTENDED FOR THE UK. UK DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SUPPLIER!

Summary: On receipt of this camera the box had been already opened, the camera was covered in finger prints and scuff marks, there was no UK/English manual, there was a cheap plastic adapter for the european plug supplied. Clearly Fonz Mania are selling cameras which were not originally intended for the UK.
Summary: Although it does produce great quality photos I have been unable to enjoy them as it consistently deletes photos at random and has a memory card errors. Not only this it also takes a ridiculous amount of time for it to turn on and to take a picture. I would not recommend.
Summary: This supposedly 'family friendly' point and shoot, "so easy to use you must get it for your grannie" camera produces images so grainy, smeared, toneless and colourless that you'll still be screaming at it long after your friends have snapped the shot on their Lumix and happily wandered away.
Summary: Before buying this, be aware that there is a known problem with the camera lens which can get stuck in the extended position. Canon don't seem to be terribly interested in assisting you if this happens
Summary: I wont be buying Canon Ixus again! This week my second Ixus seized up with exactly the same ailment as my first. Canon you have a problem ! My Ixus 230HS has seized with the lens unable to retract and an error message on the screen.
