Excerpt: I have had the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS for about 2 years and it's rugged and went everywhere with me. I've even printed some of the shots in a BLURB book and you can't tell which shots I took with my Nikon DSLR's or this camera! The zoom was why I originally bought the camera- 14X which was very good at the time it came out. I mostly used the camera for it's HD video and it never disappointed. It was great in all lighting conditions.
Summary: I've had my Powershot SX230 HS for over 3 years now (purchased in December 2011). It's been all over the place with us: Disneyland multiple times, a Caribbean cruise, weekend trips, San Diego beaches, everywhere. It takes great pictures outside, and pretty good ones inside. Sometimes the pictures turn out kind of dark but not nearly as bad as some other cameras I've tried.
Summary: Quality of picture is excellent. Very easy to use I purchased this camera because My son has the same camera. I previously owned a Cannon so I wanted another one when my old one quit working..
Summary: It's my first camera. My choise was long and I choise Canon. This camera have stylish black look, zoom 14-x, Hd-video, manual mode. When I picked it up, I did not even know how to turn it on, how to use the zoom. But, when I studied this camera, I think what he is comfortable, easy to use. When i learned M-mode, I enjoy photographing. This is so cool, when do it yourself and get good shot. It's good camera, realy good. I think, what SX230 is camera for evereday.
Summary: I love this compact Cannon camera. Has excellent zoom for getting close up pics from far away. I use it all the time and it takes great game pics for just the average camera buff. Great color and very easy to operate. Would highly recommend this camera for anyone, since it is so easy to operate. Takes excellent videos also. Just super easy to use in any situation.
Summary: I was ready to replace my Canon A630 with something a little more up to date, and this filled the bill. Admitedly, my familiarity with Canon made the learning curve short. The one thing I was looking for was a longer zoom. It has really made a difference when taking a long range landscape shot; you can crop the picture before you take it. I really don't use a lot of the sophisticated features that these cameras offer, but little by little I am getting educated.
Summary: I really like my new Canon powershot SX260. Pros: The zoom is just amazing; accessories are good; tried the video in full HD and its great; camera modes are good; Cons: Little heavy; felt the battery drained out fast when I used the video mode; didn't know how to use GPS; Overall its a great camera if I don't want to carry my SLR. It fits in your pocket and has great MP and Zoom.
