Summary: We had an earlier SX210 that has worked well, so, when the time came for me to upgrade, I wanted to try this model for its wide-angle lens and its impressive zoom. I knew about the annoying pop-up flash, which is still annoying, and in this version the on/off button is harder to deal with than the earlier one. But I can deal with design issues; what I hate is poor image quality. Even without zooming, many of my photos were blurry, not sharp.
Summary: Length:: 7:38 Mins As of 12/31/2010, due to time constraints, I will be unable to actively participate in further discussion over the SX210. You can, of course, still post your questions in hopes that someone else more seasoned than myself will be able to offer an answer. Good luck in finding the camera that best suits your needs =). THE REVIEW: This camera takes decent photos with one MAJOR exception that I will discuss later.
Summary: I just received this camera yesterday, and I LOVED it the moment I opened the box! It looks amazing, and the color is very attractive. The size doesn't bother me at all. There are tons of features on this camera that I still have yet to learn about, if I want to learn about them at all. I was taking photos and I realized that there was a shadow at the bottom right-hand corner of each photograph. I thought maybe my hand was in the way?
Summary: Length:: 7:38 Mins Before you start thumbing down my review, understand that this review represents my personal opinion based on my experiences with this camera. Hopefully, it can potentially help you save up to $60 in restocking fees and return shipping costs should you find the cons I address here to be just as unacceptable as I did. Pros: Decent picture. Lots of neat features.
A disappointing purchase for the purpose it was intended.

Summary: I've owned and used this camera for a year and with it have taken over 4000 photos. I bought it after the birth of our grandaughter so that I could use it primarily to photograph her progress and early years without having to use the large format Fuji S7000 that I usually prefer. I reasoned that it would be easier, faster and more comfortable to use a compact camera - and also less offputting to an infant instead of the Fuji which covers a good proportion of the face of...
Summary: I was initially very pleased on receiving this camera. It looked great and had all the features that I needed. However, on taking some shots I found that the colour balance was erratic. When set on auto white balance even just turning around and photographing in a different direction would produce a different colour. Most of my shots had a magenta tinge to them. Compared with my old Ixus 50 which produces superbly balanced shots, it was awful.
Summary: I have the same problem as other reviewers, it loses the focus when filming ... The pictures are very good, even indoors, but I would have liked the ability to make a short usable clip ... my hands don't shake but the camera continuously blurs the image, focuses ... blurs again ... unusable for the video part...
Summary: Just purchased this camera, video function very good but stills not so great.. I also have a 12mpixel Canon Ixus 960 which as well as having less mpixels than SX210 also has a smaller lens yet the still photos from the 960 are excellent with sharp backgrounds, it gives a typical file size of 4mb - 5mb. The difference between this and the SX210 in photo quality is quite significant viewed in HD on a large screen.
Summary: Given the positive reviews so far for this camera - I am assuming mine was faulty as I had to send it back to Amazon. I've bought Canon products often and can't really think of any previous instance of being disappointed with their products. I have an EOS 350 DSLR and it's still my first choice when I want really excellent quality image results.
