Dust on lens cannot be removed
9 December 2012
Summary: After just a year, my Canon Powershot SX210 IS is useless. First only one dust particle appeared - it was inside the camera so no amount of lens care would rectify the problem. I compensated by using retouch using Picasa. That worked only for a time and then many blotches appeared - again inside the lens. I have tried to figure out how to fix this but have yet to find a solution. For the "top end" of the Canon line - this is unacceptable.
Summary: Why is there such a learning curve with a point and shoot camera?! Granted the extra/advanced options are nice, but if I just want to take a simple picture I should be able to without putting much thought into it. It is a total hit or miss on whether or not you will get a good photo with this camera. Most of the images are grainy when you zoom in or too dark. Forget about taking a picture in low light conditions, absolutely horrible.
Summary: Canon PowerShot SX210IS 14.1 MP Digital Camera with 14x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Gold) Do not buy this camera. Lint and dust get inside the lens from the first day. There is no way to access and clean it.
Slow, slow, slow - not a good camera if you have kids
20 February 2012
Summary: I don't understand the positive reviews for this camera. I hate it with a passion. I bought it as a compromise between my old clunky Olympus 12x zoom and my compact Canon Powershot 4x zoom, both of which had started to malfunction. I thought this camera would have it all - great pictures, powerful zoom, in a compact body. I was wrong. This camera is slow, SLOW, S-L-O-W!!!
Summary: I have owned nothing but Canon digital cameras since the 1MP days... All of them have been great. Except this one. I remember how much I loved the A95 that I had right before this... The performance is awful. Very slow. Slow focus. Slow shutter. Slow! The quality of the photos are very inconsistent. Yellow tinges. Flash too powerful. Flash too weak... The only good things I can say about it is the size is great and it looks cool. Overall, a major disappointment...
Summary: This camera will not work with Windows 7 !! And neither Canon or Microsoft have a solution; this can be verified by the many cases reported through internet [look it up with Google]. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF EXPECTED TO SYNC WITH WINDOWS 7. Would have rated 0 star, but sadly not possible.
Summary: COMPRE LA CAMARA CON TODO EL KIT DE ACCESORIOS, RESULTA QUE LA CALIDAD DE LAS IMAGENES SON BUENAS SOLO CUANDO SE TIENE EL FLASH ACTIVADO, DEL RESTO SIN FLASH ES MALIISIMO, NO FUNCIONA EL ESTABILIZADOR DE IMAGENES, Y SIEMPRE SALEN BORROSAS LAS IMAGENES SIN FLASH. DE PASO EN EL KIT DICE QUE TRAE 1 MEMORIA DE 8GB, ES UNA ESTAFA TOTAL, PORQUE SOLO ME TRAJO 2 MEMORIAS DE 4GB C/U, DE SER ASI YO LAS PUEDO COMPRAR APARTE, PORQUE COLOCAN UNA DESCRIPCION Y ES TOTALMENTE OTRA?
Summary: I've owned two Canon cameras in the past, both which took great pictures and were your simple everyday point-and-shoot. I needed a new camera and this time, decided to go a little higher and buy the best point and shoot at the time. Boy, was I wrong. The camera takes great pictures, when you have light. The dark settings do nothing so any picture you take not under light comes out horrible.
Summary: Let me start this story by saying that in the past, I have always loved Canon. I've gotten multiple Powershots over the last decade and been really happy with all of them. So October 2010, I thought I would spend the extra money ($320 versus the average Powershot ~$200) to get one with a better lens. And THAT was a HUGE mistake.
