Great set, missing the memory card

Alice, Amazon
26 June 2014
  • Summary: The set is great. The tripod, case, and camera all work very well. However, it was missing it's included memory card and it doesn't have a cord to connect it to a computer. I had to buy both separately.

Canon SX170is not up to task

Sprari, B&H Photo
21 April 2014
  • Excerpt: The Canon SX170is has a lot of handy features, seems to be sturdy, is easy to use, and will be good for the applications that most people need. I don't agree with some reviews stating that it is heavy or bulky. To the contrary, it seems reasonably compact and light weight. I would give it a "4" out of 5, were it not for the fact that it can't meet the primary needs for which I bought it; namely, to take closeup shots of nature subjects in field settings.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Small / Compact
  • Cons: No Viewfinder, Poor Flash, Poor Image Quality

  • Summary: The camera isn't as good as I'd expected but it is a good camera for the price. The quality of the pictures aren't any better than my $99~ Nikon (which is much smaller). It is easy to use and the rechargeable battery is a plus (i still haven't had to charge and its been almost 2 weeks).

  • Summary: Since no USB c\ord was included with the camera, I haven't been able to download any photos. I tried the UBS cord from my former Elph 100 camera and get a messaeg "Communication Error". Camera is worthless unless I can download the photos.

  • Summary: This camera may deserve a higher (or lower) rating but I have not given it a good workout yet. It is easy to use and relatively comfortable in the hand. The view through the finder often appears fuzzy as if it is enlarged too much but the actual picture taken is clear..so what you are seeing is not necessarily what you are getting. It did not come with a cable and I didn't realize that before I purchased so I need to purchase one separately.
