Excerpt: I'm travelling with this camera for a year and already have some experience with it. Is good for still pictures - ex. landscapes and portraits. I really enjoy zoom range and manual functions. It's good to learn basics of photography before you buy DSLR.
Summary: SUMMARY: Great as fun camera for actual photographer to keep as backup/second camera, not the best option for taking quick snapshots of family or pets. If you're picking up this camera to have something to take quick snaps of children at the holidays, stuff at the bar, or anywhere else where light...
Summary: I originally bought this camera for an introductory photography class, and I'd say that this was money well spent. This camera gives a lot more control than other compact cameras I've owned before. It has options to change the lens aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and ISO.
Summary: I needed a new camera after my last one went for a swim. I read the specs and reviews and settled for the Canon SX160 and have been very pleased with it so far. A lot of the problems I read about in the reviews were easily amended through different functions on the camera – seriously read the manual...
Summary: I used to shoot weddings (in the old film days) on a contract basis for a local studio so I know something about photography. For a simple camera with a lot of features that takes very good pictures, this camera is a keeper. The zoom range is great.

Summary: Coming from a much lesser quality digital camera, I was thrilled when I got this one. The 16.0 MP makes for really sharp shots that can easily be made into larger prints without a lot of visible noise in the pictures.

Summary: I had an earlier model of this camera for years and loved it. I began to have an issue with the shutter, and it ended up being cheaper to replace than to fix the camera I had. I unequivocally decided to get a nearly identical camera because I had loved my previous one so much.
Summary: This is the best AA battery camera around. Unfortunately the new SX170 edition of this series switched to proprietary rechargeable batteries, so this one pretty much remains the king of AA battery cameras. The picture quality if excellent.
Summary: This is a great pocket camera.!!! Yes DSLR's can make better images, but they are heavy, bulky, complex, and not for everyone! I like to have a camera in my pocket for fast easy access. Much easier to lug around on vacation or traveling.
