Great camera for picture lovers!
23 September 2012
Excerpt: I loved taking pictures of friends and family so I was very excited when I received this camera as a birthday present last year. I have been so happy with it since day one. It is so easy to use and the touch screen is very slick. I especially love the different settings that allow me to take pictures that have one accent color. I also think it takes exceptional action shots. One really fun feature that I have enjoyed messing around with is the slow motion videos.
Canon PowerShot SD980IS is an excellent point-and-shoot

Excerpt: The Canon PowerShot SD980IS is an excellent point and shoot. I bought this camera off of Amazon.com refurbished for around $150, and and that price I feel it is a great value. Canon has implemented a touch screen on this camera that can be used for many function, but the camera retains mechanical buttons for those that prefer a real button to press. The major advantages of this camera include that high definition video of any length, and the VERY wide angle lens.
Excerpt: I used to have the SD880 and dropped it so i had to replace it and decided to upgrade to the SD980. It has a touch screen and face detection which i love! it has so many different setting for different scenes. it is the perfect point-and-shoot!!
Excellent Picture Quality with a little bit of noise
9 September 2012
Excerpt: The Canon SD980/ IS is an excellent point and shoot camera. At first glance of the manual touchscreen controlsappear slightly confusing. Just try it. Turns it was a lot easier than I expected. The Canon's picture quality is excellent with a little bit of noise. The noise is nothing a Canon printer cannot clean up for you. One downside is that when you are in Auto there is no way to force flash. You have to go to programmable mode to force flash.
Summary: Am a Canon SLR kind of guy, love telescopic lenses. Always wanting closer pictures. Purchased a Swaroski spotting scope (20-60x 60mm), then I found the digital camera adapter for this scope. If you know anything about digi-scoping wildlife, you use the viewer on the back of the camera to aim your spotting scope at your subject.
Summary: I've had this camera for a year now. It's the best camera I've ever had. It's small and fits right into my pocket so I take more pictures now than I used to. I hated lugging around my big Nikon. It was hard to hike and carry the big camera. Now I can just put my little camera in my pocket and take it anywhere. This camera has so many useful features. It's simple to use and the image quality is WONDERFUL. The macro setting works wonderfully.
Summary: My wife every time complains about big camera. Finally I have purchased small one, Canon PowerShot SD980IS 12.1MP Digital Camera. It is small and taking great pics. My wife carries it in her bag.I strongly recommended.
Summary: I have bought this camera 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy cause I made the best choice. You're going to love this one. the touch screen features are incredible and easy to use and the quality of the pictures are very good if youy know how make the best settings.you can even rotate the pictures just using the touchscreen I bought a 8 GB HD Card and I can make very good short movies at very good quality.
Summary: I haven't had this camera very long, am still experimenting with it and will definitely erase some of the photos, haven't even added them to my computer as yet. However, I give it a 5 star rating and recommend it to others. So far I like it very much.
